When did you guys find out about Trina Gulliver being a Lesbian because i knew she had problems in her personal life but i never thought it was that I wonder how her daughters feel about her mother living with another woman

Ah that once a year moment when you realise you missed the women's final.
I still don't understand why it's only 3 sets. Should be at least 5. |

Don't think her daughters are that bothered, they were all sharing the same table today. Why would her daughters be bothered?

not so sure about that.
personally think the woman's tournament is a bit of a joke. not the players but just the whole setup. the games are stupidly short and 1st round starts one round before the QF's. just seems like the bare minimum. |

Really ? Best of 9 sets ? That final, had it gone that far, would have been well over two hours
Problem with the womens game at the moment I think is that they can be very erratic more so than the men. Ashton for example is as good as a lot of the men on her best form but played dreadful against Trina, the top men players might have a 95 average on a good day or an 80-85 on a bad one the top women can throw 85-90 on a good day but 65-70 on a bad one. |

Surprised Gulliver has won it again as she's been on the slide for so long.
In her match with Ashton, she was 1-0 up in sets and legs and Ashton was still 2/5 to win the match and if she had hit her doubles, would have won comfortably, but she didn't and well done Gulliver on another title although feel for Hedman who is destined never to win it. Don't mind who wins out of this Smith and Veenstra match. I'll be rooting for either in the final tomorrow as I like first time winners (as long as they aren't arrogant) but feel Waites may have too much for them. |

One of the commentators today mentioned that Trina's wife was there today, married for about 4 years he said.

Well because you have known your mother all your life and she was married to their Father for so many years and suddenly she is with a woman So you would not think for a second she was Gay when she was married to their Dad
Reading your posts I am guessing you are a youngster. Couples split up all the time and children don't stop loving their parents because of it. They move on. Trina's sexuality is irrelevant, this is a sports thread. |

Well maybe most people aren't so small minded to think that.

Great game that between Veenstra and Smith. Good talent Veenstra was going to say one for the future but he's 34 so time for him to step up now I guess!
Don't think Smith will beat Scotty tbh but you never know. |

How did I miss the semis?
One thing I'm curious about is why all the English players are fat but the foreign ones are thin, do they not play in pubs overseas? |

Huge congrats to Trina. She is a credit to darts.
Poor Deta. Hopefully her day will come. Loved her little dance before they started.

£12,000 to the winner of the women's final . How miserly and insulting is that to the winner . Surely in this day and age they could afford more then that miserly sum .
Delighted for Trina to have won her 10th but felt sad for Deta who seems to lose her nerve completely in the finals . Never seen Trina play so erratic as this year . I thought the Danish player Peters would win as she seemed most in control of her nerves . Then she goes and loses to Deta . Was very impressed with the 23 yr old Zoey Jones and looks a great prospect for the future . |

I felt Deta started to look tired after the first Set. Then when commentator said she works night shift at the Post Office ... there you have it!
Ok she's probably had a week or two off work for the tournament, but seemd she lost her concentration due to fatigue there. Don't darts players have Coaches? Nutritionists? An energy drink would have helped (looked like she was drinking clear water), or a couple of energy gels, one before each session in the final would have kept her alert. |

Scott Waites plays with the same darts I do. 23g James Wade darts. Sadly I play more like Terry Waites these days

Waites is very cocky. Does Bobby George think he's in a Bollywood movie?

Who won the "when will Bob Potters grandkids get on the telly" sweepstake? Leg 5, that's surely a record. Every year they're on but never usually first set

Is he ? I thought he was very humble in his interview yesterday. Smith has said "I will win this" so both are showing confidence, which you have to have.
