Do you think Jeff Smith looks a bit like Phil Nixon

Smith blew that huge chance.

I did a bet on Waites to only lose two sets

Smith is throwing a little 'jerky' on the odd dart. He has a lovely action but I think nerves have really got the better of him

Standard has dropped even more. The averages are terrible, the doubles poor and 8 180's in a total of 7 sets is shocking.

Maybe Smith is dragging Waites down but bdo darts finals have never been this bad have they? I'll look for averages and checkout successes at some point, but this is PDC qualifier standard - both players seem to have had the occasion get to them.

Scott Waites is just scoring more heavily and is getting the doubles more times than Jeff Smith

I had two small bets on 7-3 and 7-4 - think I can say goodbye to that money

What a way to finish. No sign at all of a bottle towards the end. Nailed it.

That is an exaggeration, they aren't that bad. Both averaging just under 90. That said there has only even been one winner with a below average of 90 since 2004 and that was..................Scott Waites in 2013

A very poor tournament if truth be told and a poor final.

Hopefully we see an improvement in standards all round next year.

The runner up wins nearly 3 times more than the ladies champion won.

He has played over 3 times more sets too. 2 more matches for a start

Well done to Scotty. Interviewed him once, he was out at work. He put his tools down for 10 minutes to do the interview. How many others can do a physical 9-5 job and then play darts like that ?
