I guess BT wont take it on as there production costs will double being sole broadcaster.
Isn't the actual production outsourced by the BDO. Didnt think the BBC or BT were behind the production of the world championships.

Scott Waites was interviewed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (Letterman's replacement).

Must be one of the most bizarre bookings ever!
Got my dates wrong. He's actually a guest on tomorrow night's show.

The production is outsources by the rights holders, not the BDO.

If the new rights holders in 2017 (or BT if they want to take on the whole thing) want to carry on using IMG, that is totally up to them. Don't see why they wouldn't though, bar the 300 microphones right next to the board they don't do a bad job of it.

And that bloody light under the board. This is the first year I can remember when we haven't had a ref spending 2 minutes looking for a fallen flight in it

The annus horribilis for the BDO continues. Refunds from the guy tasked with organising the new events have been cancelled, including one in four figures to the Heart of Darts charity, so the chairman has now gone to the police after promises from the BDO that all money would be refunded have now gone broken

And the next event in five weeks and three days still has no tickets on sale for it....

Tonight and next week at 9pm on BBC2
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let%27...s_2_.282016.29

Gabby Logan hosts an exciting winner-takes-all tournament for Sport Relief, as some of the biggest names in the world of darts join forces with comedians and celebrities to battle it out for the title of Let's Play Darts for Sport Relief Champions 2016.

The celebrities vying to lift the trophy this year are Greg Davies, Mike Tindall, Katherine Ryan, Jon Richardson, Robbie Savage, Rizzle Kicks's Jordan Stephens and Kate Humble. 2015's defeated finalist Tim Vine also returns to Lakeside, Frimley Green, in another attempt to win the title. Professional darts players in the tournament include Martin 'Wolfie' Adams, Scotty 'Dog' Mitchell, Bobby George 'The King of Bling', Deta 'The Dark Destroyer' Hedman and Andy 'The Viking' Fordham.

In the first quarter-final, Greg 'The Abominable Throwman' Davies and 'Wolfie' Adams take on Jordan 'The Dartbreaker' Stephens and Anastasia Dobromyslova for a place in the semi-finals. In the second quarter-final, it's the turn of Katherine 'Moose Knuckles' Ryan and Andy 'The Viking' Fordham to go up against Mike 'The Titan' Tindall and Scotty 'Dog' Mitchell.

I take it you didn't watch last year then.

Last year they had Lee Mack, Tim Vine and Richard Osman who are all known darts lovers.
Not sure about this lot, apart from Vine.

True but will they intergrate darts in the future? especially BDO?

I could see them doing a Snooker Shootout/Pot Black thing....until the Snooker bites the dust as well.

They still have the bowls don't they?

If they do this in the future, quite clearly it will feature PDC players instead, and be at a different venue. Winter Gardens, maybe (like that quiz show thing Sky One did).

The second event in the fantastic "New Era" has been cancelled

Next one is in twelve weeks and it seems the venue have said no room booking exists. BDO in self destruct mode.

Their boxing coverage last night was not good. Sound problems throughout. Need to improve a bit for next weekend surely can't mess it up again
