Does anyone know if the Emmerdale studios have flooded?
Kirkstall road currently resembles a river and that's where the studios are... Very worrying.
Also I'm worrying about the village set as that is nearby and also near otley which is also flooded and of course a river runs through the village, especially close to tall trees cottage which is very low. Does anyone have any information?

I've just seen on Twitter that the itv Yorkshire archive building is flooded, I'm guessing that it's next door to the Emmerdale studios so it doesn't look good

it was further down kirkstall road where it has flooded but then the city centre was flooded, studios are inbetween cardigan fields and the city centre. depends if they had any flood defences

the vids i have seen have all been over the road/roundabout type bit after the studios on leaving the city centre dont think the whole of kirkstall road was affected as someone got from where I live to work at kirkstall road this morn. they should have stayed safe at home but some people are mad

stand corrected radio aire has posted of flooding outside their studio so water was down near the studios too

Iv checked the flood map I have open and harewood house seems to not be in a flood warning area and so probably safe. friend lives up that way and they had a power cut last night

Thanks for the reply, and yeah I think the village is probably safe, also if the studios have flooded surely emmerdale's Twitter account would've said something by now. A lot of fans on Twitter are reporting that it's flooded though and saying that production will be delayed with episodes missing in February. However I think this is just fans guessing, it hasn't been said anywhere official.

that is just speculation. the water is still too high for them to think about clean up and assessing the damage plus there is wednesdays weather to get through as well.

they will be on xmas holidays at the moment so with luck they will be able to assess the damage in the next day or two and sort out some temporary sets so they can resume filming next week.

they should have a business continuity plan for this type of event, the sets will mostly be wooden contruction and they will be able to hire in equipment.

there shouldnt need to be missed episodes as they will have banked some before xmas to account for the hols and they have about 6-8 weeks of safety net

I imagine till they know the damage there will be no statement

here we go, no reported flooding. the gates to the studio are right where the flooding occured, guess its been lucky in that the buildings they film from are away from the road side

The much missed web cam in the village would have been an interesting watch.

ITV will have coped with stuff like thus before and will do again. I' m sure they' ll have adequate insurance for such expensive property. It will be a lot of hard work and inconvenience though but I bet they have a ' show must go on 'attitude.

My thoughts go out to everyone affected by this flooding though. It hasn' t been too bad around here, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Here's a short bit of footage I took yesterday morning from Kirkstall Road. This is about a quarter of a mile from the YTV Emmerdale Studios. I think the studio might be alright, as there is a gentle slope up from Kirkstall Road on the north side. It's what meant my flat escaped unscathed. Aside form the ten hour power cut, of course.

The restaurant you can see is the one that Aaron took Jackson to when they were trying to persuade him life was worth living.

No. Just high enough to stay dry. Got trapped the wrong side of it in Boxing Day though. Took us about two hours to get home. At one point, we tried to wade through it (I blame the beer....). It got to our knees and was still rising, so we stopped that quite quickly.

Blooming heck!

The Emmerdale Studios aren't really that important in the long run, my heart goes out to those whose homes and businesses are ruined because of the flooding.

If they lose any scripts in the floods I'm available to rewrite them properly.

Thanks.

Me too.

Opening shot - Debbie's front room
Sound fx 'door knocking'
Debbie goes to door and opens it to see a beaming Jasmine
cut to shot of Debbie. She is trying to smile. It looks like it hurts
Debbie: Jasmine! Where on Earth have you been?
Jasmine: It's a long story.....

I suspect what could be more if an issue is cast and crew having to take time off because their own homes have been flooded or they can' t get to work due to flooding. We might see more filler stories than usual for a few weeks.

Production is shut down for Christmas until the new year, so this shouldn't be an issue. Worry not, it'll all be reet.

Thanks Betty.

Still it' s a terrible situation for everyone who' s homes or workplaces have been affected.

no I just wondered why you thought watching flooding was interesting?

I know when they closed the bridge down the road the other night loads of people went to take videos/photos and police had to stay at the bridge

It's dreadful, we're very lucky not to have been hit. Kirkstall Road and surrounding areas are getting back to normal now, but there's more rain to come.

No, not so much the actual flooding, but I actually miss the web cam and would have liked to check that nothing too drastic was happening. We're okay here, but we have been told to brace ourselves for horrendous weather on Wednesday.☔️
