I recently purchased a new LG television (42LF652V) and along with it I also bought a LG speaker bar (NB2020A). The only option to connect the speaker bar to the television is using the optical port.
While the TV and speaker bar work together (I deliberately purchased the matching brands to make sure that they were compatible with each other), I have noticed that when I mute the television – the speaker bar fails to also mute. This means that when the phone rings, I have to reach for a second remote control to mute the sound.
Is there an option or some type of setup that I have missed where I can mute the TV and speaker bar using the television remote control? I have the TV set to only use the optical output and not the onboard speakers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
