Hi there,

Just purchased a sound bar for the TV. I'm just wondering what people do with these? Do you leave the standard TV speakers on alongside the bar or just play the sound through the device?

Thanks

No you don't, you turn the TV sound completely down, or switch the TV speakers OFF (if that's an option).

If you connect via HDMI-CEC/ARC this will normally automatically disable the TV speakers, and control the sound-bar via the TV remote.

As above you don't run both, try it and it will sound awful and have an echo where there not quite in sync with each other.

We have an LG TV and and LG sound bar which we've connected using an optical lead, select optical in the TVs sound option and it automatically switches off the TVs speakers. Some TVs differ though
