A lot. Have a bit of an extended break this year so I'm still eating and drinking and will be until next week.

Bloody hell, I log in to check, in my still slightly stuffed condition what's happening in the sometimes odd DS mobile world view and Jabba's back! Good to have you back. Hope it's not just for Christmas as it's been a lesser place without you.
Hi Japaul,

Hope you're well and had a great Christmas? Good to speak to you again and good to be back. Hopefully I can stick around in the new year but it's likely I won't have as much free time as I used to due to work commitments. I will of course try to visit as frequently as I can.

Are you still keeping up with the quarterly stats from the big 4? Will be great to hear your thoughts on the state of the industry next month once results for the full calendar year come out.

I can't talk. I am too.
Self employed. Sod it, I'll go back to work on the 4th or 11th!
Just had a turkey sandwich and now a lovely large JD and ice!
For the record I have done a little paperwork today.
I do wish customers wouldn't ring be between Christmas and the new year though.
It's bloody rude!

Ah sorry, I've now caught up with a few other threads and I see you've already explained yourself. Yesterday!

I still try and keep on top of it. I'll try and add some thoughts here too when I feel like I'm able to think properly again. I see there's a 2016 prediction thread too. At the moment the only thing I can confidently predict is that despite everyone else's more moderate habits here, the unopened bottle of fine Cognac in front of me won't see much of 2016!

Resisting the urge to phone Devon early in the morning and pretend to be a customer with a complaint

Yup, I basically have some time off so may as well visit the forum. I feel like I've missed so much. So many new people as well!

Would be great to see your predictions if you have time to post in that thread. I'll probably make a post as well but it might not be until the new year. I'll have to think about this year as there are lots of things about to happen in 2016.

I do this at least once a month. Surprised he hasn't caught on yet.

I might do that.
I can't get over the bit where Harrison Ford enters the Millennium Falcon.
You could feel.. "a thing" in the cinema, an intake of breath but not quite.
I was 9 again, it was 1977...

No - but it does for me - I was 13 and can still remember the experience!

(Don't post much, but an active forum lurker... )

I see Jabba has been taking advantage of the Beatles back catalogue now being available for streaming over the Christmas holiday period.

I know exactly what you mean.

I think Disney pulled a masterstroke buying the rights. Get something that appeals to both adults and children. All our generation want to see it and revisit their youth. At the same time we introduce it to our kids who feel the same way. A generation later, rinse and repeat. Just as long as they produce great films. Disney looks unstoppable at the moment with all the other great stuff they bought. Mrs Jobs must be very pleased with the 7% of the company Steve left her.

Well as you get older you'll find that the "old fart" marker moves away from you.
Currently for you, clearly 47 is an old fart.
For me, it's about 67.

JJ Totally nailed it.
If the start wasn't the same music and the same intro as before I would have got up and left!
It was. From that point I knew it was going to be good.
What you say about the kids is true.
Two points for me. The aforementioned Hans Solo entrance but also the first time we see The Millennium Falcon. My 8 year old Son did do an intake of breath, tapped me on the arm and went "Daddy, Millennium Falcon"...
How cool is that!!

EDIT: Apologies for being off topic guys but hey, this is Star Wars!

Same for me. And sorry to sing the praises of Disney again but that moment would have been ruined by most other companies who would have made sure they slapped their name and brand all over the beginning. But no, all it said before the opening crawl was Lucasfilm. Just as it should be.

Yeah I'm sorry too. I can't think how to get back on topic but I wonder if the Force could get VoLTE working on an Android open market device? Probably not. That would be silly.

Dunno, have you tried to Feel the force, letting the force flow through you?
Maybe try it blindfolded?

Networks have to work with the manufacturers to approve each device for VoLTE as well as issue the correct firmware to the device.

With iOS it's a bit different as the update comes from Apple direct and goes to all phones. Well that's the simplified version at least.

Honestly I'm probably not the best person to answer why unbranded android devices won't allow VoLTE whilst only branded devices do. It's not something I deal with in my role. I will say it's frustrating that it's this way as I prefer to keep all my handsets unbranded and would love to take advantage of VoLTE but it seems the activation process isn't going to be simple or any time soon for me.

Last time I spoke to someone at Three they did tell me that they planned to get unbranded devices working with VoLTE but that's as much as I know. That it should be coming in the future.

If you or Jon here anything about ThreeInTouch allowing 800 / VoLTE access please do let us know.

I'm very interested in hearing about that, and by the sounds of it they could be deploying that in the coming weeks. I have just bought a new sim free unlocked handset LG V10 H960, so I won't be able to access 800 unless they allow TiT to activate 800.

I know it's planned. So 4G access on Three inTouch is coming (hell it was planned ages ago).

Not sure when though.

What's 50 shades got to do with it? I thought this was a Star Wars thread.

I would guess this wont be sorted out till Android 7.0 at earliest. 6.0 support seems to be a fudge. It has certainly made me reconsider my next phone as its a bit of a minefield unless you buy an Apple device.
