They were all the rage in the late 80's but do you want to see them back together?

It's a huge YES from me.

I have seen Slash live (last year, with Myles Kennedy) - he was brilliant.

I have seen 'nu' Guns N' Roses live (in 2010) - contrary to popular belief, largely written by people who never went to a show, they were brilliant.

Axl still has it, and Slash has only gotten better with age (from a technical standpoint his playing is at a level it wasn't during GNR). They will sell out stadiums all over the world, and I will be there to watch them!

Axl is suppose to be working with a PT and getting his voice back in shape

If the rumours are to be believed we can only hope

Here's a recent pic of Axl, looking a bit healthier than 2012-2014 Axl http://i.imgur.com/NoBNVnD.jpg

Axl is being made to get in shape (keep in mind he has all the way until April so that pic isnt representative of what he'll look like when he hits the stage).

The bands first performance is next Wednesday on Jimmy Kimmel where they'll be playing Welcome To The Jungle and releasing the tour dates for 2016.

Supposedly Skid Row will also be reforming to open for GNR.

Is that the current lineup or classic lineup? Any source?

I read on Rolling Stone Axl is booked but it made no mention of the group playing

Its the reunion line up which is a hybrid of the "current" and classic line up: Axl Rose (vocals + piano), Slash (lead guitar), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Duff McKagan (bass guitar + backing vocals), Frank Ferrer (drums), Dizzy Reed (keyboard + backing vocals).

Not a pure 'Appetite' line up, but hey, I guess we wern't expecting miracles, though izzy hasn't been confirmed or denied yet, so I guess there's a chance. Adler is understandable I guess due to the drugs and booze

Yes! One of my favourite groups ever, I even like Chinese Democracy!!

It's a huge YES from me.

I have seen 'nu' Guns N' Roses live (in 2010) - contrary to popular belief, largely written by people who never went to a show, they were brilliant.

Agreed.

And me too. Although the 2 hour 15 min wait between the support finishing and G N' R taking the stage was ridiculous. But, I read he's much better these days in that respect so, hopefully that'll remain the case.

Axl is suppose to be working with a PT and getting his voice back in shape

If the rumours are to be believed we can only hope
He really needs to do that though. 'Larger' Axl was not good, get in shape man!

Axl is being made to get in shape (keep in mind he has all the way until April so that pic isnt representative of what he'll look like when he hits the stage).

1. The bands first performance is next Wednesday on Jimmy Kimmel where they'll be playing Welcome To The Jungle and releasing the tour dates for 2016.

2. Supposedly Skid Row will also be reforming to open for GNR.
1. I hope that's up on you tube within the hour of it happening.

2. I thought "no way" when I read that, then I remembered seeing this - https://twitter.com/tonyharnell/stat...77395281702913 so, wow, is that gonna happen too? IMO that'd be great also.

Not a pure 'Appetite' line up, but hey, I guess we wern't expecting miracles, though izzy hasn't been confirmed or denied yet, so I guess there's a chance. Adler is understandable I guess due to the drugs and booze
I'm sure he'd love and of course want to do it but could he handle a long major tour these days considering his history...no way.

I doubt Izzy will do it either, he's too long gone maybe. Would be very happy to be proved wrong there though.

Appetite line up or bust.
Do not want to see Fortus, Ferrer or Dizzy 'yes master' Reed anywhere near this reunion.

Interesting times ahead!!

I'm not sure they're actually going for a reunion vibe anymore as the new line up is now officially as follows:
Axl Rose - Vocals/Piano
Slash - Lead Guitar/Rhythm Guitar
Duff McKagan - Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals
Richard Fortus - Lead Guitar/Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals
Dave Kushner - Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals
Dizzy Reed - Keyboard/Backing Vocals
Frank Ferrer - Drums
Chris Pitman - Multi-instrumental

It's particularly interesting that we have 3 guitarists now, as 3 guitarists is exactly what's required in order to perform Chinese Democracy material live. I also think it's worth noting that we now have 3 members of Velvet Revolver in the band (Slash, Duff and Dave). Axl allowed Bumblefoot to perform his solo material during GNR's Las Vegas residency so I assume that means we'll be getting one or 2 VR songs slipped in the set as a tribute to that band and Scott Weiland.

I personally don't think they'll be branding this as a reunion though, I think on Jimmy Kimmel Axl (who will be appearing with Slash on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning) will likely refer to it as the future of Guns N Roses rather than a revisit to the past.

Gotta be careful about using these terms like "officially" - I've seen several news outlets do it and it does my head in.

OFFICIALLY these are the only reunion facts we have:

* Slash says he and Axl are on speaking terms again
* Some sort of agreement has been reached between Slash, Axl and Duff in regards to using the original and AFD logos on modern merchandise
* Jimmy Kimmel has followed Axl and Slash on Twitter
* A 'Welcome to the Jungle' teaser went out before some screenings of Star Wars
* GNR have changed their cover photo and profile picture on Facebook
* The official website now features the original GNR logo on the front page

Add it all up and it still appears 99% certain that a reunion is on the cards, but it is VERY IMPORTANT to remember that NO statement has been released by the band, or the individuals, that directly addresses the rumours. Even Axl's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel is a rumour from Rolling Stone mag - as of the time of this post, Axl's name does not appear on the official guestlist for any of his shows next week.

tl;dr version - Nothing is OFFICIAL until the band confirms it

I'm sure anyone remotely interested in this has already seen it, but in case not, you gotta love Axl's tweet from the other day - https://twitter.com/axlrose/status/682813785233567744
He often comes across as a strange guy at the best of times these days but nice to see he's at least got a good sense of humour in there. I also think that that tweet is 99.9% confirmation that this IS going to happen.

Surprised Matt Sorum's not going to be the drummer though if that proposed line up proves correct.

Aye, I bought this up to a fella "in the know" and allegedly Axl and Matt had a bit of a falling out behind the scenes fairly recently which is why he's not in the band with the rest of the VR fellas.

Jimmy Kimmel has a habit of following whichever guests he's about to have on on Twitter, I'd assume in order to familiarise himself with who they are as a person but also just for friendly reasons.

Anyway take a look at his most recent "followings": https://twitter.com/jimmykimmel/following

Not to mention that Axl's relatives have recommended fans tune in to Kimmel on Tuesday, as have several people in the industry.

I think its safe to say the Kimmel thing *at least* IS confirmed haha.

Ah ok, interesting. I wonder what that was all about? Matt's always seemed like a pretty easy going sort of guy from what I've heard/seen.

I always think too much is made of the Nirvana/GNR rivalry. It all stems from the fact that Axl loved Kurt, but Kurt hated him, so the media of course span the story over many years about Nirvana 'killing' GNRs popularity.

The truth is somewhat less impressive; GNR, much like Nirvana, only released a limited amount of music while they were active. GNR remained hugely popular until they split up, as did Nirvana, and as nobody has a time machine to an alternative dimension, we will never know what long term effects, if any, Nirvana would have had on their popularity, had both bands existed for a longer period of time.

Axl went on to help the film "the wrestler" with there music score and even got a dedication at the end of the film. In the film he help convince them to change some dialog to slam kurt.

the feud is still ongoing, go to a show wearing a nirvana or Kurt t shirt and Axl will stop the show to cuss you and get you booted from it.

I'd like to know who the source is, because the 'reunion' line-up hasn't even been officially announced.
Its all speculation, which is why my previous reply was maybe a little too harsh.
Nothing has been confirmed.

Such nonsense.

Axl OKed 'Sweet Child O Mine' to be used in the film. Anything else is utter drivel.

Axl is no saint when it comes to live performances but I have never heard of that happening at any GNR show, ever.
