I couldn't find a thread on the new Coldplay album on here so thought I'd start one.

Coldplay were my absolute favourite band for a few years, but I wasn't keen on their 'Mylo Xyloto' album and didn't even bother buying 'Ghost Stories', however after listening to some samples I decided to give them another chance and based on first impressions, their new album is a corker!

Granted its not the classic Coldplay sound people might expect, but I think the band have done a great job of creating mostly uplifting and catchy music whilst still retaining the style that made them so great to begin with, something I felt they failed to do when they previously tried to go more poppy. There are some great rhythms on this album and its definitely music to put a smile on your face (pun intended!) and want to move... yes really!

Probable favourite track for me is 'Fun' which features backing vocals from Tove Lo and has made me check out some of her own stuff. Her voice and Chris Martin's blend together beautifully. I also LOVE 'Adventure of a Lifetime' which is a really addictive tune!

Any other fans of the new Coldplay album here?

This new album is great! Can't stop listening to it!
I do prefer their recent stuff to their earlier stuff. I like Mylo xyloto and I love Ghost Stories ( don't know why most people don't like it )
Anyway, 'Fun' is a good track. Yes they're are some catchy tunes , like you say 'Adventure of a lifetime' and 'Amazing day' I think they are all good tracks except for Up and up, I just can't get into that one.

'Miracles' which is only on the Japanese version I think?? is also a good track .

'Everglow' is AMAZING.

Even 'x marks the spot' is really catchy ,even though it has a more r n b feel to it.
'Colour Spectrum' has a quite hypnotic feel to it which I like too.

I'd definitely say 10 out of 10 for this album

My wife loves Coldplay and hardly seems to play anything else and she really loves the latest one.And even though I am not a big fan I actually quite enjoy listening to it although not overkeen on Ghost Stories.

Many people consider A Head Full Of Dreams as Coldplay's best album since X&Y.

I got the album too a couple of weeks ago and my favourite tracks on the album include the lead single Adventure Of A Lifetime, Everglow, Up, Army Of One and Up&Up but for me, the stand out track is Hymn For The Weekend. I will be really surprised if this isn't a hit in 2016 as it's got so much hit potential, and with the song featuring Beyonce too, it could possibly be at least as big as Princess Of China.

I like several Coldplay songs, including the current single. As I tend not to remember many details surrounding new music these days I am not sure of its title, but I have the feeling it's the title track of this album.
