So with just six days to go until a bunch of z listers embarrass themselves in front of a few people on channel 5, I thought it would be about time to post the ratings thread for daily overnight's and officials. How do you think the series will perform? I'm thinking around 2.8m launch and around 2.4m-2.5m average, down on previous january series inevitability due the fact tv ratings seem to be down as a whole across the board. What do you think?

I think there is already a thread

Either way, I don't think a CBB winter has ever launched under 3m has it? I think it may be down quite a lot. 2.4m in my opinion and settle in the high 1s overnights. But we can never know. The show is very unpredictable. I didn't think the last two winter series would be so successful

I haven't seen one on ds No it hasn't, just have a feeling it might with the rather lacklustre build up. I think cbb13 benefited due to the positive press and entertaining characters the series had. CBB15 benefited hugely from the controversy created by the housemates. I think this series needs either positive press or a controversial house with divisive characters to keep the high standard of ratings...

Hmm I geuninely have no idea. It could go one of two ways. If it continues the trend from the Summer, I'm thinking a 2.4/2.5 launch. However the last two winter CBB's have rated so highly, even CBB15 which came off the back of the awful BB15 and we know how that went down. So equally it could be a 3.0/3.1 launch

Winter CBBs are a beast of their own and have generally been bucking the trend of the previous summer CBBs and normal ones. Last years CBB was the highest rated one on C5 if I remember right! For that reason I think it'll launch in the low 3s and depending on the cast could climb to the mids or stabilise around 2.9/3.0

Bumping this up with two days to go...
Having seen the daily star 'rumoured' lineup I actually think the series could launch to a low 2 million, the lineup looks awful with far too many reality stars to engage a casual audience. I'm gonna predict 2.3 million launch

Mixed reaction on Twitter, a lot saying it's the worst lineup and some saying they are a great bunch.

It will launch low, I reckon 2.3m (which would be like a million lower than last January!) and then fall to the 1.7-1.8m, to officially average around 2.1m which would be a million down on CBB15. I have a bad feeling about this series.

It's a shame really, after the dreadful summer ratings I'd hoped January would be another blockbuster. I just can't see it though

Yep no way. Be prepared for bad ratings becaiuse no matter how entertaining it is, people would not tune in because they won't like the mix.

Shame with the summer one too as I thought it was the best summer CBB on 5.

LAD Bible has put out the story with "Who are these people?" and everyone commenting how the show is awful, so much hate.

BUT, it's promotion either way. LAD Bible has 11m readers, so if anyone who didn't know it was coming back, certainly know now.

Also, #CBB has come to life today, a lot of talk on Twitter.

According to Emma this is the strongest line up and going to be the best series in years. I thought last years winter series was the best yet.

Previous series:

CBB8: 5.08m (21.9%)
CBB9: 3.54m (16.6%)
CBB10: 2.71m (13.1%)
CBB11: 3.55m (17.0%)
CBB12: 2.83m (15.7%)
CBB13: 3.40m (15.0%)
CBB14: 2.36m (12.6%)
CBB15: 3.27m (16.3%)
CBB16: 2.22m (12.7%)

Don't think it will be anywhere near CBB15.. 2.4M I think

Interesting that despite CBB15 launching at lowest winter, it became the highest ever on C5, despite it launching with 1.9m less than CBB8!!!

The ratings are not people on social media anyway.

Hope they pull in the viewers tonight. With all these Reality TV types they'll definitely pull in the teen and young adult demographic.

It got 2.8m incl +1. Yes, down quite a bit from the last January, however with the state of ratings at the moment its not too bad. 2nd in it's slot and highest rated thing on CH5 for 11 months, when CBB15 ended in Feb 2015.
