I'm predicting the first show at around 1.9m with +1. With the later show, I very much doubt it added anything, with it being so late.

Annoying they have split the programs up but it did benefit LSB.

First eviction in the UK VS USA series was watched by 1.96m.

This series can't even hold it's own against the summer series, never mind last year's winter series!

that 1.96m figure you have is an official rating not an overnight...

Do you believe that the first eviction of this series will rise to top 1.96m then?

both figures for lasts nights eviction don't even include plus one, they'll be over that figure in officials...

The first eviction in the summer got an overnight figure of 1.60m including plus one. So 1.72m excluding +1 is pretty decent.

DS hasn't released any +1 for anything, but I'm going to assume that it got 1.90m, in the officials that would be around 2.3m.

I know that is quite a bit down on last winter, but the last 2 Jan series were "freak rating series", CBB9 and CBB11 got like 2.2m and 2.3m overnights (2.6m and 2.8m officially) so we should hope that it falls within that range for overnights so it does need to grow! But it's not bad.

How can we comment on what you have "assumed" to be the rating? And can you really say that two series of a show were "freak rating series" when they got decent numbers? Not sure how that is a justification for this series getting comparatively poor ratings?

It's an assumption because +1 for this series has been between 150-200k so far so that's what I'm guessing it would be. That's why I said assumption. I didn't say it will get that, it's just more likely

I'm not the only person that said CBB16 and CBB15 were 'freak raters' lots of people have on here, TiBB , Twitter...and most people didn't expect it to touch those figures because this year's line up (and because it started with half a million less than those). CBB8 got 2.8m officia, as did CBB11. CBB9 got 2.6m so I'd like it to catch up with CBB9 to avoid it being the lowest winter (even though it will be).

I'm predicting 1.3m...

As you can see I'm not expecting decent things this series at all. Tomorrow will be around 1.9m I reckon though.

From Liam Hamilton on Twitter.

Alesha Dixon 'robs' #DavidWalliams in UK premiere of #LipSyncBattle on Channel 5, watched by 1.7m at 10pm between 2 #CBB eps - 1.9m & 1.6m

These include +1, Prof Green said 1.8m, but Liam usually gets accurate figures. Anyway for a C5 night getting 1.5m+ is unheard of so great for them. It may not be great BB but they helped LSB a lot.

Big Brother Part 1- 1.9m
Lip Sync Battle- 1.7m
Big Brother The Interview- 1.6m

Thats pessimistic! Saturdays are always lower but that would be a surprising drop off

1.46m inc+1 last night
Salv*

Channel 5 (inc +1)
21:00 - Celebrity Big Brother: 1.46m (6.7%)

Curse of the Saturday continues. I'm not even surprised. These are the the last few series Saturday ratings (winter and summer):

CBB12- 1.64m
CBB13- 1.85m
CBB14- 1.69m
CBB15- 2.25m
CBB16- 910,000

Very worrying that it could only beat last summers first Saturday. But it should be in the 1.9m region tonight.

not good, this is supposed to be the highest rating series of the year. With ratings like this i dread to think what the summer series will rate...

I don't think it will hit 2m until the final to be fair now.

It just isn't BBs year it seems. It probably largely had something to do with being no "ratings puller" on launch. I'm not surprised. Also at this point last year, Jeremy has been ejected and Perez/Hopkins were in full effect.

Tonight seems to be a little more action packed with the talent show, and the Gemma and Angie row which was mentioned on twitter but no video. Apparently they were standing on two different sides of the house.

It's probably going to be in the 1.9m region tonight, which wouldn't be terrible but wouldn't be good. We need to not expect it will even touch CBB9's official average of 2.6m (2.2m overnight), but hope it can beat ALL summer series (bar CBB8) in average:

CBB10- 2.2m
CBB12- 2.3m
CBB14- 2.1m
CBB16- 1.9m

They should all be do-able as the highest averaged 1.9m overnight (CBB12).

It looks like it's heading into the direction of standard non-celebrity BB level ratings.
Might not happen this series, but it could go that way with the next series of CBB.

Doubtful. Maybe summer CBB ratings buy certainly not regular BB. Let's not forget the highest ever regular episode of civilian BB was 1.77m. Tonight should be at least 1.8-1.9m. The standard Saturday episode on C5 for BB has been like 900k. The standard normal day has been 1.2-1.4m. And last night being a Saturday beat that so there should be no worry about that.

In terms of young competition, there's no real challenge for C5 tonight. War and Peace on BBC1, Endeavour on ITV and Dench land 93 all are on which all started last Sunday with all of them doing well.

BUT they are quite old ish shows so that kind of gives BB a clear path.

Well that depends on how many viewers those shows get.
If those other shows get lots of viewers and CBB doesn't get many then there may turn out to be more 'young' viewers watching them rather than CBB in terms of hard numbers.

Possibly but I can't see shows like War and Peace and Endeveaur sharing the same audience as CBB. Historically for CBB, Sundays do best because Sunday dramas on BBC and ITV pull in older viewers.

I'd be surprised if tonight didn't hit 1.8m. It'd be nice to have it back over 2m but too much to ask?
