Favourite songs of 2015
Thom001
31-12-2015
I just thought since we are just about at the end of the year; i thought it would be a good idea to recap and reveal favourite songs that you've heard over the last 12 months. I remember there had been something like this done last year.

To get the ball rolling; I'll put down my ones:

"Call Girl" by FFS
"Tutti-Frutti" by New Order
"Unstoppable" and "Green and Gold" by Lianne LaHavas
"Rock and Roll Love Affair" by Prince (revised version from his new album, "Hit 'n' Run Part II)
"Music of my soul"; "Mother May I" and "Smells Like Fire" by CeeLo Green
"Blackstar" by David Bowie
"High by the Beach" and "Terrence Loves You" by Lana Del Ray
"Forever" by Jack Pack (written by Randy Newman who I really love. He was so impressed with them; he gave them this unreleased gem to record.)
"I'll be there" by Chic featuring Nile Rodgers
"I will never let you go" and "Lay all your love on me" (featuring Ed Sheeran) by Rudimental
"Bang That" by Disclosure
"High Hopes" by Pixie Lott (she performed this at the Battle of Britain 75th anniversary concert via the red button on the BBC; BBC Radio 2 & selected cinemas. Since she co-wrote the song this year & uploaded a video on YouTube; I thought I would include it. It is just such a beautiful song and want to give her a bit of credit on here for a change. )

I remember seeing Izzy Bizu performing on last night's TFI New Year's Eve on Channel Four

I had forgotten about Muse and their album, Drones which had been released last year.
I am quite sure that The Weeknd was the musical guest on an episode of Graham Norton last year, but decided at the end of his performance not to come over onto the sofa to sit with the other guests because he doesn't like to talk to the media; he let's the music do the talking, I suppose.

I am going to add three more:

"Psycho" by Muse
"New Day" by Rudimental (featuring Bobby Womack)
"Black Muse" by Prince (from his album, Hit n Run Part II)

Seriously, that's fine Tejas The whole point was to name as many personal favourite songs of last year (now we are in 2016 ). Good list, I have got to admit.

Anyway, when I saw the mention of FFS, I couldn't help but think when both of my younger brothers went to see them - it was really to see Sparks really - in Edinburgh last year. To top it off they even met the Mael Brothers at the backdoor after the show.

I just thought I would add two more when I was thinking about this last night :

"H-a-p-p-y" by JoCee (came across this little gem by this lovely singer who appeared as a contestant during the blind auditions on The Voice last year.)

"One Kind of Love" by Brian Wilson (from the "Love and Mercy" Soundtrack and his album, "No Pier Pressure". Heard it on the closing credits when I went to see the film during the Edinburgh International Film Festival and really love it. )
