Replacing a cheap tablet screen
I have a cheap tablet that only cost me about £70 from Amazon but the screen has cracked after the user (ie me) dropped it.
I am having trouble finding a local company to do a cost effective screen replacement and was wondering if anyone knows of a company that I could maybe send it to to get a new screen that wont cost more than the tablets worth. Thanks in advance. |

I would be surprised if you will find anyone to do it for under 70 quid all in. At least perhaps not anyone reputable anyway. I would imagine that by the time you factor in the cost of parts, labour and post & packing you would easily exceed the value of the tablet, certainly it's second hand value if not what it cost initially.
At that sort of price point it is sometimes not worth bothering with repairs. Chucking the old one away and buying a new one very often works out cheaper! All depends on what is broken and a screen is likely to be a significant percentage of the total cost of the item. |

No point in repairing a device that cost £70 new, unless you do it yourself of course (not recommended)
Electronic gadgetry that cost £70 last year is going to be available to buy 2nd hand for about £40 today. ------ What model is it out of interest? |

That's pretty good for the price, it's a shame you dropped it.
I don't think it's repairable. |

Is it only the cover glass that is broken 'GoodBuddy'?
I didn't consider it's just the glass/digitizer that needs replacing. But it's a tricky job, the glass might be glued strongly to the plastic enclosure. Removing the old one might easily break the LCD. ----------- Not the same model, but probably very close: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uALhgn-bY94 Of course if the LCD is broken as well then it becomes much more expensive. |
