We're looking at possibly adding to our PVR collection with one Freesat and one Freeview to take advantage of the "rewind" features.

Freeview would be the FVP-4000T Freeview Play HD Recorder - 1 TB
Freesat would be the HDR-1100S Freesat Freetime HD Recorder - 1 TB

Can anyone tell us if each machine has its own unique the commands or would we have to cover the sensor window of the one we don't want to operate?

Out of the box they both use the same codeset but can be changed to use one of six alternate codesets.

The Freesat box is now a Wireless one with it built-in and the Hard Drive has been upgraded to 2TB

The greatest frustration with the Humax remote control is that there's no button on it for changing the TV input, so in spite of feeding the TV code into the handset, you still have to dig out the one for the TV to change boxes.

I can change the input on my TV using my Humax remote.

The Source button on my HDR Fox T2 remote switches the TV input. I think it's just a matter of finding which button does the job on your remote.

There is no source button on the HDR-2000T.

You could try and get hold of HDR-FOX T2's RM-F04 remote for your HDR-2000T. You also get the advantage of a WIDE button and a TV/RADIO button but the other extra buttons will have to be ignored.

Or treat yourself to a bonus Christmas present and get a Harmony universal remote control.

I'm afraid there really isn't a Source button, or any other button which will perform that function. A very bad omission, surely?

UPDATE! There IS a Source button but you'd never know it and I only found out by trial and error.

It's the button above the Guide button, but it only works while the box is still in the process of booting up. There's no mention of it at all in the manual.
