Well it's here, Today is Friday 1st January 2016 and I would like to say Happy New Year. As is tradition this is the time to reflect on what you did 10 years ago and this year that falls on 2006, but before we do that lets reflect on what was going on in 2006 and it's highs and lows.

In January, a whale was spotted in the thames causing a rescue operation with crowds forming to track the progress. The whale sadly died. In February, a ferry sank in the red sea sparking a massive rescue operation. In March, Gary Glitter was jailed in Vietnam for sexually abusing two young girls. In April, John Prescott had an affair with one of his secretaries. In May, After poor results in the local elections Tony Blair sacked Charles Clark as home secretary. In June, an anti-terror operation involving 250 officers saw the shooting of a 23 year old man. No evidence of terror connection was ever found and the police later apoligied. In July, temperatures across the UK were high reaching 36.5 degrees celius in Surrey becoming the hottest day on record. In August, the threat of terror dominated the news when police said they foiled a plot to bring down ten planes, also in August the story of Natasha Kampusch makes headlines worldwide after she had been kidnappped and kept in a basment for eight years. In September, Tony Blair announced he would resign in 2007, also in September, Richard Hammond was in hospital with brain damage after crashing a jet car at 300 miles an hour. Steve Irwin also died in September. In October, the crash of a small aircraft in New York sparked fears of terroism. It was later found to be accidental. In November, a major scientific study suggested there was only 50 years left for fishing going by current stocks, also in November, Sadamm Hussain was sentenced to death and executed. In December, the death of five prositutes in Ispwich dominated the news, also in December, fog caused many flights to be cancelled across the UK.

Worse year of my entire life spent 5 months sat next to a hospital bed while my brother was on life support and had many brain surgeries for a tumour and we kept getting told he was unlikely to make it.

He did and is fine now but that is something I couldn't cope with again.

Was a terrible year for me too, can't believe it was ten years ago.

Stressful year for me, 2006.

2006 was the year I finished college.

Id just split up with my ex.... Was playing lots of Wii.

Being severely bullied.

2006 was a very eventful year for me but I'm not gonna go into it on here.

On a serious note it's hard to believe it was 10 years ago.

Edit: Something I will talk about, my son was in hospital a lot in 2006 and spent a lot of the time in a wheelchair or on crutches. Not the greatest of times, and he wasn't predicted the greatest of futures when it comes to mobility. But thankfully on this occasion the doctors were wrong and here we are 10 years on, and thankfully he has proved them wrong.

I was bullied all through Primary school.

Still in secondary school.

Yep looking back every decade, Im always a different and better situation.

My head feels a lot calmer and clearer, as if I'm finally on the right track. Imagine hoe good I'll feel ten years from now....

Drugs, mainly.

Start was stressful as we were still getting used to the idea of being parents of a 5 month old. Then on the 2nd Jan we had a call that the cleaner could not get into my Wife's grandads house. We knew what that probably ment. So we went there and found him on the floor sadly he had probably been gone for about 12 hours.

Then the rest of the year went ok apart from a major falling out with MIL over her dads estate and money she owed us.

2006 was terrible. Nearly as bad as 2015.

Yep, the answer is still the same a year on, I'm afraid.

This was just before my dark time the girl loved was on the verge of leaving me so was just before i started drinking my liver to an early grave, turning up twork drunk, cutting myself pretty badly, a time that lasted for years.

in 2006 though I was happy and enjoying life, I had a good job, love of my life, spoke to my family.

This exact time in 2006? I think i was on singstar.

now though things are very different, i dont see family that i would be with every weekend, i lost the job, not been able to get one since because of my mental state, other my grandad dying that i lived with and looked after at the end, instead of drink 30/40 cans a night im almost tea total only drink on my birthday christmad/new years. live by myself and barely coping. had 4 different homes since 2011 due to bad neighbours one who essentially forced me out of my home of 17 years after my grandad passed.

Friday 13th January I had an op for breath cancer, not a big deal. Same day Jodie Marsh got evicted from The Celebrity Big Brother house. The rest of the year was Ok. Started a new job at the end of the year.

I was studying full time, living with my mum and going out with a awful ninny.

I was a homeowner had a career a husband and a 4 year old daughter. .life was really easy.and I was a taxpayer...I will tell you what happened in the 2016 topic..lol...hint I have a teenage daughter and a younger daughter now..divorced. .but hey got a job again!

Ahh 2006 brilliant year , i finished school that year , music was fantastic too
