Not even in Twenty20 matches do many overs go for 19, especially in that position. And certainly not four balls for 24!
I should have been clearer though so I do apologise - what happened there was disgraceful; Stokes isn't a joke overall. After Root, or possibly alongside Root, he's our key player. But, as good as the batting was, the bowling was poor.

I know its a different form of the game but its amazing how well their t20 game is going for their teams across the board compared to the test team woes.

Enjoy it man, My next door neighbour is a West indian and i can see how sad it is to see the decline of the side.
Hopefully the good times for west indies stay for a long time and not a short blip.

I hope so. I know some Aussie commentators were calling for the West Indies to drop to a second division test level. Never. We need them to be great again

I wonder if the West Indies have the patience for the longer form game - they prefer trying to be on the front foot from the off which means restrictive bowling or lack of wickets frustrate.
At this level, though, when you need that trait... wow.
I once saw Shaun Pollock take 4 wickets in 4 balls for Warwickshire but this was simply astonishing given the circumstance.

Personally think WI need to show more pride in playing for their country more.
A lot of the time in ODI and Test cricket the players don't want to play for their country.
only seen them show up in certain situation, either by sledging them or in some ICC events.
Even my Next door neighbour can see this.
The West Indies don't seem to give a monkeys about tests anymore. Half their best players don't play in their games now from when I've seen them.

They only cared about the English test because graves was dopey.

Dropping them to a second division test level not that bad option really since the players need motivation to perform and Test cricket needs Context to make Test Cricket interesting in every country barring Australia and England.
Even AB is saying he is losing motivation to play Test cricket because it has no meaning.
But no one came up with a workable idea yet that suits everyone.
Morgan says the batting lost it for England but the West Indies needed 19 from that final over. The bowling lost it for us as much as the batting.

It musnt be forgotten that the Windies dominated tests ferociously for 20 years with hardly a reserved defensive form of Cricket. Its 20/20 which is changing Cricket and which is turning heads of players and worldwide audiences alike (although I have to say not mine). Its hard to see Tests being central to the game in any future, other than being carried by the shorter form.

Again I disagree with you. 18 of those 20 overs were pretty good. Only 2 were fairly expensive. England didn't get 170 which lost them the game. Batting lost it for me. The bowlers did ok

Every summer we have thousands of people playing for nothing. Their motivation is just to play the game

Another 10 runs and we would have been fine. If we had controlled the final over we would have been fine. We did neither.
