By the way surely Shakib al hasan is bangladesh first all time great.
what more do you want a batsman averaging 40, their best by a mile and averages 33 with the ball and was their best bowler around 2007-2011 period.
he is the kallis of bangladesh cricket.

forget to add this to the mustafizur rahman comment, apparently heard he has flexible wrist which is why he can bowl quick leg breaks and has incredible wrist position if the kid ever learns swing he will be a deadly test bowler since he does have the ability to be a great bowler.

heard someone comparing him to Muralitharan so a very unique cricketer indeed.”

I really like Shakib, but ATG is a subjective thing, he's certainly very good, not sure Kallis comparisons work that well, he's nowhere near, He's an huge great for Bangladesh no doubt, but not sure he is in the context of all cricket.

Bangladesh have no confirmed cricket schedules at the moment, hard to take them seriously as a cricket nation.

Thought we were talking about Bangladesh great lol.
Anyway hard to see mustafizur Rahman being a great if Bangladesh hardly play games as you say.

By the way Bangladesh have got some games schedule got a test against India in India got a 2 test series against england and would have the champions trophy next year plus the usual games against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Think they actually got a decent amount now of cricket coming up although a lot of it is at home.
In terms of cricket think Bangladesh need to be taken seriously now they pretty much close to wi, Sri Lanka and Pakistan level in cricket.
Although might be an issue of how much top cricket they get although hoping it changes if and when Icc announce the test league, apparently test wins will be awarded 3 pts and draws 1 pt and bonus for series wins.

Chris Jordan heading for the IPL immediately as a replacement for Starc !!

The England fast bowler, has signed for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Jordan, a member of the England side who made it to the final of the World T20, is expected to leave Sussex immediately as a replacement for the injured Mitchell Starc.

While Jordan emerged as one of England's key death bowlers in the World T20, he also had a decent chance of winning a place in the Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka in the absence of the injured Mark Wood. His decision to play in the IPL is unlikely to further his immediate Test ambitions, though the England management have previously recognised the benefits of their players gaining experience in other domestic T20 leagues.

Sussex are understood to be phlegmatic about Jordan's decision. He has yet to appear for them so far this season, having missed the opening rounds of the Championship to rest an elbow problem.

not sure about this one

never been jordan's biggest fan but assumed he would be in the frame for the 3rd seamer spot for the test side, especially with wood ruled out for a couple of months.

i assume he cant be in line for too big a pay day if he is only being called up as a replacement and will have missed half of the event

Yesterday i saw Angus Fraser, Middx and current(?) Eng selector, bigging up Middx and not current Eng player Sam Robson. gulp.

If/when Hales is dropped surely the most sensible solution is to move Compton up the order and then blood a younger middle order bat, Vince or another? Of all the recent openers tried with Cook and still young enough to try again Compton has been the only one who looked technically and mentally up to it. I'm not Comptons biggest fan, but he does look the best of a very average bunch to choose from. Although im still hopeful long term that Lyth will go away and improve as he's a talented cricketer.

Going back to Robson, Lyth or Compton as opener all pretty much the same deal. We all know we've got to replace Taylor anyway, so there's a chance for another young Middle-order player.

Don't understand why people are still clambering for yoof, we've not exactly got that experienced a line-up.

Quite frankly I've got no answers for the top order. Bell-Drummond (directly contradicting my first point) would be a flyer if you want a contrast to Cook who isn't Hales.

I don't rate Hales, but in the end, we won the last series with him, so I'd start him this Summer, but yeah, I'd consider him at 3, and Compton as opener.

Don't think Buttler being at the IPL will help him get back in, so who knows who'll be the other middle-order player, Vince always looks so good, but doesn't always deliver. Who knows, but oddly in the new England set-up I'm excited by the unpredictability, rather then stressed by it.

Roy, Joe Clarke, Ballance could all be in the mix too. Who knows who is going to be the third seamer either, Plunkett, Tom Curran, Coverton, Willey maybe all in the mix and which spinner will they go for, the Glos lad Taylor has taken wickets and scored a ton early in the season.

Great chase from Delhi, Morris imparticular, but some schoolboy fielding has certainly helped

Dodgy in more ways then one TBH.

But at least a close match, which this appalling IPL hasn't had much of.

I wasnt actually "clambering for yoof". My main point being if Compton is in the England XI and Eng drop Hales (which has to be highly likely, although hopefully he'll get the 1st summer series and make a success of it. Not that he's shown anything to suggest he can) then Compton should be opener so that they can hide the debutant(s) in the middle order instead. The continual taking of a player from county cricket and asking them to make the huge step up to open in Tests doesn't seem to be working. Carberry and Compton the only two who have shown the mental strength to cope, even Root failed as an opener. So unless Bell returns then we will be chucking in a youngster or two into Tests this summer, so please make it in the middle order only.

i disagree with Robson, Lyth and Compton being a much of a muchness. Robson looked lacking in both technical and mental ability to cope in his first attempt. Lyth looks like he has technique and ability but not mentally strong enough and by the end was waving his bat at absolutely everything outside off stump. Compton looks technically and mentally like he has the game for a Test opener. But failure to turn his starts into any half decent scores and a failure to commit to the team ethos means his days could be numbered again.

New Zealand Cricket have confirmed that Kane Williamson will take over the captaincy in all three formats of the game. Well done to him, absolutely terrific player.

He just bowled Steve Smith who is then called back as the bowler has stepped over the line and it's a no-ball

Looks like it's going to happen. Wonder if the weather has been factored in
Wouldn't seem right to win a series on a 6-over slogathon:

The Pakistan Cricket Board has joined Sri Lanka Cricket in agreeing in principle to a proposal from the England & Wales Cricket Board to implement a points system for their tours of England later this summer.
