I'd be surprised if Ballance came back in, also if Plunkett was picked. Vince? Maybe.
I think a surprise addition could be Tom Westley of Essex.
Four tons so far this season including one today against Sri Lanka.

Cookie likes him and they bat well together.

Interesting outcome into the enquiry into the circumstances surrounding Phil Hughes' death

"I do not believe that the new helmet would have afforded additional protection against the blow given the location of where Phillip was struck, as the protection to the neck, at the rear, is no different," Mr Curtain wrote.

However, the review featured several recommendations for improving the safety of cricketers on the field, including the suggestion that wicketkeepers standing up to the stumps should wear head protection and eye protection. Fielders in close positions, such as silly mid-on and silly mid-off, should also wear helmets, he said.

i did suggest after the t20 world cup she might not play for much longer as the issues with her knees have hampered her for a couple of years now but didn't expect it to happen just quite this soon

Very Sad news. He was only on the other day as well

Always the go-to man with all the shenanigans going on with West Indies cricket and always able to give a clear opinion of everything

Will be a big loss

I can't remember listening to anyone else when the West Indies toured

He must of commentated on the 1969 tour which would have been the first time I listened to TMS for a West Indies game

Charlotte Edwards has been sacked or asked to resign as captain of the England women's team

It certainly looks like she was pushed........with the management telling her they wanted to move on

Looks like it could be Jos Buttler v Michael Jordan in the IPL

Mumbai need 44 off the last 4 overs with Jordan to bowl 2 of them
Jos is 7*

Win for Jos with successive 6's off Jordan

Only 9 needed off 2 overs now. Jordan may not get to bowl his last over

Certainly is Jos's day - caught off a no ball

and then finishes it with another 6

Buttler and Pollard added 55* off 21 balls to win with 9 balls to spare

England's squad for the 1st Test has been announced

Jake Ball and James Vince are in and Steven Finn is back

Cook
Hales
Compton
Root
Vince
Barstow
Moeen Ali
Stokes
Broad
Finn
Anderson
Ball

Guessing it's between Ball and Finn for 12th man ?

Ball has enjoyed a rapid rise after a solid 2015 season and strong Lions programme in the winter. He pushes out Chris Woakes, who played in England's previous Test at Centurion, while injuries to Mark Wood and Mark Footitt have also opened up the opportunity.

I saw a bit of Ball recently and he bowled well. Will he keep Finn out of the team? My guess is no. But we'll see.

So sad about Tony Cozier. The voice of the radio cricket era that I grew up with. I could listen to him reading the phone book. End of an era.

Ali gets his reward for his one first class wicket so far this season.
