it is but it terms of overs played we barely reached day 2 lol.

Durham must be hoping for dodgy weather that allow only 35 overs a day and Sri lanka having Sanga and Jayawardene back.
Sri lanka could probably cause Durham to go bust if they do a performance like that again.
Can't see advance ticket sales improving now and chances are no one will pay 50 pounds either for that type of performances.

I remember during the Ashes last year when England got 280-odd first up and then rattled through Australia there was talk of the lowest totals ever by a team that went on to win by an innings. I think it was said that England's total would have been in the top 10 (in fact Australia got enough in their 2nd innings to make England bat again).

So does anyone know where 298 ranks on that list?

oh, I didn't know England were playing tomorrow.......I only checked the Sports Channels.......

Can't get too interested about friendly internationals

not interested in tennis or swimming...........or rugby league really. But I do watch the occasional game. Which Hull team is yours DL ?.........I'm sure you've mentioned it but it slipped my mind........

Think Darren supports Kingston rover, the east hull team I think.
I am FC Fan since university on the west side.

Jimmy was just devastating today.

This test side (as it is becoming more consistant) could turn into something very special indeed.

Well done lads!

I am a Rivers fan despite being a West Hull lad. Dad is a season ticket holder at FC so I'm the family black sheep.

I would always enforce it.

Cricket Writers on TV is back today on SS2 at 10am but is only scheduled for 30 mins which serms odd . Hopefully it's my TV planner that's wrong and it starts at 9.00 as it usually has in the past

Beginning to wonder if all tests should start on a Friday. It seems really sad to have no play on a Sunday.

it has been dropped from the schedule because England not playing today.
Reports that Atherton or Ward will be taking over and mostly talking to the press about the game and current progress of the test match.
Quite sad really preferred the old format where they would talk about everything County cricket, cricket around the world and Stories not just related to England.

That's disappointing. One of the better discussion shows with points of view that aren't those pushed by the powers that be

Another own goal by Sky methinks

'Cricket Writers' sister programme The Sunday Supplement also appears to have been dropped. It wasn't shown n the Radio Times even though it was on my EPG for 8.30 (and it hasn't come on)

I thought the usual format was that Cricket Writers took over when Sunday Supplement went for it's summer break

Guessing they don't have the studio space any more so had to do the show at the ground.

Watching the build up to the IPL game and Sky had the wrong table up

(They had Kolkata and Mumbai back to front)

How can that happen with it being the last day of qualifying

Cant get the staff I guess

Or maybe the cricket writers needed to be at the Test match?
Anyway, ridiculous what they've done with the programme.
Allott was as dull as ditchwater but it was a fairly engaging watch on a Sunday morning.

Sam Billings in back in the Delhi team for a must win match in the last of the qualifying matches

Should be good experience for him

woakes in for stokes for the second test

i'm not really convinced woakes is good enough at this level and definitely wont bat at #6

i assume bairstow and ali will both move up a spot and then it will be between woakes and ball at #8, i would prefer to see ball get the nod for that as we shouldn't need what woakes can do with the bat at #8 anyway. so if ball was seen as a better option for the first test as a bowler then he should get the nod here.

Shame for Stokes as he has never played a test at Chester Le Street

I fancy Ball to play and Ali to bat at 7 with Bairstow at 6. Woakes purely as back up.

I'm fairly convinced that he isn't good enough at this level. I feel a bit sorry for Woakes, though. He went away and gained nearly 10mph of speed and his batting isn't bad. But he's more of a 'jack of all trades, master of none' to me. I'd like to have seen Plunkett in for Stokes, with a bit of pace and better than a tail-ender bat.

I hope you're right about that and Ball getting the nod first. Despite their recent form, England should be able to afford a longer tail.

BIB - Sounds likes Stokes to me.

As I mentioned on the County thread when he got 2 tons against us last week, I would have called up Scott Borthwick

Woakes is OK but not one you would be confident about on a good wicket against in-form batsmen
If he plays and does well in helpful conditions, it will just muddy the water

Fair enough, but I think Stokes is better and more promising than Woakes. He's a better bat, and I think his bowling has more potential
