it has been showing some signs of uneven bounce however and the forecast for tomorrow is for showers which usually doesn't help the batting side

Gonna go, queuing up around 9am so I get the best seats.

A safe pair of hands who could bat according to the circumstances.

Weather doesn't look good, looks like it is dry till 11-12, rain for 2 hours and then dry till 9.
should still see 50 overs.

If anyone thinking of going to the game best advice is to wait after 12 or 1 good chance you can get in for 5 pounds.
Only went early so I can get the best seats but not much people are queuing and they are not expecting many people today tops maybe 1-3 k.

Forecast isn't great till 1 anyway but it is clear after that so should still get 50-60 overs and lords generally give tickets away cheaply in the last session of play or last day of the game.

Delay start likely since light drizzle at lords sort of rain where it won't go away and but not strong enough to take players off but heavy enough not to start play in.

Looks like I wasted 20 pounds the forecast now isn't great till 2-3 now worse part will be them calling it a draw at that time.

My thinking is that if they were to change the rules to allow a no ball call to be reviewed then the umpire should wait until after the play has completed before calling it. That way the batter and fielders play it as normal though it removes the opportunity for the batter to make a free chancy shot.

i've been saying for 2-3 years now there is an extremely simple solution

they have a fixed camera on the line the whole time already, just have a monitor with the 3rd umpire dedicated to that camera feed. the 3rd umpire isn't doing anything during live play so he can be watching that feed, if there is a no-ball he just presses a button that beeps in the onfield umpires earpiece and the no-ball is called

no time-wasting
no delays
no dodgy calls
no need for extra technology or resources

if there is an extremely marginal call when a wicket falls by all means check it but this would be an infinitely better solution than exists now

Watched The Verdict last night and was amused to hear that Ali's 9 runs from 24 balls was selfless batting.

Another win for the West Indies, this time over Australia in the 50 overs tri-angular tournament. Looks like they will b e moving up the rankings, albeit too late for the Champions Trophy

Not quite the odi squad most were expecting with Hales and Root rested:

Tymal Mills, the Sussex left-arm fast bowler, and Middlesex batsman Dawid Malan have been named in England's T20 squad to face Sri Lanka next month. Jonny Bairstow has been included for both the ODIs and T20 but there was no place for Stuart Broad.

Alex Hales, Joe Root and Moeen Ali have been rested for the T20, which takes place at the Ageas Bowl on July 5. There is no place in either squad for Jake Ball, who has been part of the Test squad through the series against Sri Lanka.

ODI squad Eoin Morgan (capt), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Steven Finn, Chris Jordan, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, James Vince, David Willey, Chris Woakes

T20 squad Eoin Morgan (capt), Jonny Bairstow, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Liam Dawson, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Tymal Mills, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, James Vince, David Willey

Not too late to push Pakistan into the qualifiers.

WI are apprently even open to play Banglandesh at home soon so very good chance pakistan will be struggling to make it automatically for the world cup.

Although out of those 3 think Pakistan will have the least trouble in the qualifying stage.

big score for SA despite how slow, by his usual standards, de Kock was

I like the intent to change things , but 3 years is a long time:

The ICC is pushing for the creation of a new ODI league for the world's top 13 countries to give 50-over cricket new context and relevance.

Plans are well-advanced to create a new league from 2019 for 13 nations - believed to be the ten Test teams, Afghanistan, Ireland and one other Associate, with Nepal advocated by some as a favoured option in a debate that still has some way to run.

The league will see all countries play each other over three years, with the top two nations playing a play-off series to determine the overall winner of the league.

It is hoped that the proposals will give ODI cricket a new context and sense of purpose, amid fears that the format fits awkwardly between Test and Twenty20 cricket, insufficiently loved either by traditionalists or newer fans.

Worrying news for Eranga and Sri Lanka:

Sri Lanka seamer Shaminda Eranga has been admitted to hospital in Dublin to undergo tests on an elevated heartbeat. He is understood to be in a stable condition but will remain in Ireland until Monday while the rest of the team returns to the UK.

Eranga experienced discomfort during Sri Lanka's 136-run win over Ireland at Malahide on Saturday. He came out to bat and faced the final ball of the innings but did not bowl and instead went to hospital.

"Eranga had an elevated heartbeat prior to the innings commencing and was taken to hospital for tests," Sri Lanka team manager Charith Senanayake told ESPNcricinfo. "He's doing good but in hospital till Monday to complete all tests."

Hi just asking for a bit of advice please, we are thinking of going to the West Indies next March to watch ODI's never done anything like this before. so wanted to know is it best to go with a travel company that specializes in this type of thing or is it easy enough to indepentaly (our preferred option) would we get tickets easily enough.

Cheapest option is to do this by your self.

Tickets would be very easy to get.
for better advice check out the barmy army forums/Facebook or twitter.

The packages generally charge you a bomb for the tickets/hotel and flight and doing everything can be 50-60% cheaper.

Believe all the tickets for the game should cost around 10 pounds, so if you book the hotel and the flight you are good to watch the games.

None of the games will be a sell out.

the biggest mistake anyone can make is buy tickets through the Barmy army/Howzat or any packages offering guaranteed matches since they charge about 20-30 pounds for the Tickets for the game and can be 100-200% more expensive than literally walking to the stadium and buying it your self.

Wow surprised Eoin morgan released his strategy on Sky.
looks likes England will play their strongest team in the next 12 months and Broad will get a chance.
looks likely Broad playing NZ in the Winter and then list A for Notts and north vs south game next April-june.
