I'm surprised It took the third umpire so long to reach that decision! It looked out in real time. It was proved on hot spot and snicko. Correct decision, but didn't it take ages?!

That decision is a crock of shit. Stokes has every right to be furious.

Let's hope we can get to 550 by tea and declare.

I would not declare at tea

Felt sorry for Stokes. He tried to get on with it at a time when Root was in the 'slows'

Worst 3rd umpire decision since this howler last year between SL - NZ where the third umpire overruled despite there being nothing on hotspot or on snicko, but it 'looked' like a deflection on one of the replays and probably was influenced by the home crowd on seeing the replay.

Very odd decision to overturn

Didn't look like clearcut evidence to me

Yes. But I think Joel Wilson was just being cautious as he is still an inexperienced test umpire. This is only his second series, after the two-match Bangladesh vs South Africa series last year.

Wonder if any of the Pakistan team are capable of doing 10 press ups after 5 long sessions in the field....

Woakes can do no wrong at the moment. Breakthrough wicket 27-1.

Slow down a bit Chris we want a game of this you know.

You are being a bit unfair to the Pakistan team at the moment.

Got to feel sorry for Rahat Ali

Busts a gut with 10 hours in the field and bowling 29 overs and then they send him in to face a fired up Woakes

There is a person on Twitter called the Cricket Geek who is re-tweeting people's previous unkind tweets about Chris Woakes - many saying he was useless and should never play for England again.

A touch unkind reminding them of their premature conclusions about Woakes.

You'd find a few on here. Mind you some posters also said James Anderson and Stuart Broad not good enough and one even called Joe Root an average player.

Lucky the search function doesn't work here, as I'm sure we could do similar. maybe from me, can't remember.

So......any chance of this game going into Monday ?

I can see Pakistan being all out before lunch in which case Cook 'might' enforce the follow on.........

In the old days tests started on Thursday and Sunday was a rest day. Enforcing the follow on was more popular then.

Only their in form batsman Mustapha pressup can save Pakistan first innings from being bowled away on Sunday.

Pity today I was having forty winks in the last hour and then missed Woakes and Stokes rip into their top order. Having Jimmy back is our lucky charm and figurehead , saw the highlights and our lot looked purposeful and quite likely to take a wicket with every other ball. He leads our attack and gives the others someone to aspire to. Woakes our in form bowler looks the best by far and should be opening with him.

i'll admit i had reservations about woakes at this level

he actually said something in the interview they showed on day one that i had been saying for awhile. his success with the ball in domestic cricket had been based on lateral movement, but he kept getting told he needed to up his pace to succeed internationally. he did that and added 5-10mph to his bowling but in doing so lost the ability to move the ball and that was something he worked on over the winter, and its now showing in his bowling.

Why ? Woakes has gotten lots of wickets as first change bowler, why would you want to change that ?

woakes and anderson are also quite similar so opening the bowling with anderson and broad does give the batsmen different looks

Looks like the conditions should help the swing bowlers

Chance of the weather intervening as well so England may enforce the follow on if the opportunity arises

i think with the multiple bowling options we have that the follow on should happen whatever the state of the game/weather

I see that India enforced the follow on of the West Indies yesterday as well so maybe attitudes are changing
