Excellent all - round performance from England

I would bring in Ball for Stokes as well

Sri Lanka in big trouble against Australia at 18/3 in the 1st hour

Didn't realise that Eurosport covered live cricket

Maybe not a full house but still tens of thousands of pounds which would have been lost without the extra day.

I always thought that there were insurance policies in place to cover for lost play

Maybe they only cover the costs and not the (expected) profit

I thought insurence policies were for days lost to bad weather, but I may be wrong.

Pakistan win 2-1:

England win 3-1:

3. England 112
4. Pakistan 105

Also worth considering in the West Indies, if:

India win 4-0, they move to 114
India win 3-0, they stay on 112
India win 3-1 or 2-0, they drop to 110
India win 2-1 or 1-0, they drop to 108

So due to rounding:

If India win 3-0 and England win 3-1, both on a 112 rating, India would stay above England.

Any other situation where they have the same rating after their respective series', England would go above India.”

Clever boy. I wouldn't know where to start! having a league table with points for wins etc would be so much easier!

But as i pointed out and you didnt reply to - If England had put them back in, when would it have finished ? Yesterday too. So your point isnt valid.

I'd love to know the ins and outs; for example the security and catering firms - LCCC (or ECB) will employ them on a contract basis, so who insures who should day's be lost? I would imagine the contract is for a full five days and not "oh, the game's going to a fifth day, do you mind warming up the pies..." but there will be plenty of what and if's in those contracts to cover everything from the game being over in 2 days; being wholly rained off to the return of the Free George Davies squad.

laughable really since Sri lanka hire foreign coaches a lot of the time and players like W Akram, Jayawardene, Sanga, Murali will literally help any cricketer that approaches them for free as well and are happy to help any team in a consultant basis.

Wasim Akram gets criticised a lot for helping Indian bowlers in Pakistan for a similar reason.

Don't see Warne getting bashed by Aussie/CA fans for literally helping any legspinners in the world.

Sri Lanka heading for defeat

Be surprised if the Aussies don't lose a lot of their match fees tough for over zealous appealing and trying to pressurise the umpires

if they could get another 100 here then even 165 isn't going to be an easy chase

just watching ben duckett in the t20 tonight

i know we all get quite pessimistic about the next players to come through and the lack of depth available in the batting ranks but i am actually quite excited about the prospect of guys like duckett and bell-drummond breaking through into international cricket over the next couple of years

And don't forget the Curran brothers at the Oval who both have a chance of International honours

Sri Lanka strong favs for what would have looked like an unlikely victory on Day 2

Voges gone at 97/4 with an unusually long tail

Dark clouds have swept in and will stay. It's going to be a draw most likely even though the bookies make SL marginal faves at 4/6 versus draw 11/10.

Herath seems to have been around forever

Wonder if the injured O'Keefe will bat

Reckon Sri Lanka only need another 10 overs to get the win so they may yet beat the weather
