Is anyone concerned about Englands packed schedule in the subcontinent? 7 tests in the space of 8 weeks? Some of which will be in hot and humid conditions?

with the likes of stokes and moeen able to bat top 6 it also allows us to fit in extra bowlers if we need to help manage their workloads |

Very sparse crowd there
Looks like a county championship match Doesn't look the best decision to bat. Ball moving about all over the place |

Pleased that they are at least giving some consideration to this
Not sure about the on field ump not having to call any though The upcoming ODI series between England and Pakistan will be used as a trial to see whether front foot no-balls can be effectively determined by the TV umpire and conveyed to the on-field official. To assist the TV umpire, the ICC said that footage from the four side-on cameras for run-outs will be made available on a split-screen feed, along with slow-motion replays and a rewind-forward option. To receive communication from the TV umpire, the on-field official will wear a "pager watch," which will vibrate when a no-ball is called. If the watch fails to deliver the intended message, the umpires will use regular verbal communication. The only instance when on-field umpires can use their discretion to call a no-ball during the series is if the side-on cameras are unavailable. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci-icc/c...y/1048339.html |

Has cork ever seen pakistan play an one day game in the past 4 yrs, Pakistan are not a great one day team or white ball team, most of their players are more suited to test and if anything no misbah, younis and then no Asad shafiq because they think he is not a white ball player and then their captain Azhar ali generally struggling with the white ball stuff and is more of a cook type player than a 3 format player means pakistan batting would be brittle and hard to see how they can chase 280 or even post a total that will challenge England.
a reason why they are ranked 9th. Massive series for pakistan since a 4-0 or 5-0 loss could mean they struggling to automatically qualify for the world cup. struggling to see how pakistan could win a game though since England are so strong in the white ball stuff. quite funny how the selectors didn't see this 2 yrs ago lol. |

which muppet scheduled SA vs NZ for the winter in SA? Ridiculous.
2nd test - it 'should' be dry in Pretoria with late winter day time temps above English summer temps. Never sure though. Nuts. |

TBH pretoria and Durban are normally dry in the winter months.
so they could still play cricket there just like Queensland and Darwin can play cricket in the winter in Australia and Darwin/Queensland regularly host A Tours, Under 19 and club cricket during the winter. going to be quite common now since SA, NZ and the non 3 big teams have to play or host cricket outside the traditional window otherwise they will never actually play much cricket considering 6 or 7 teams call Sep-April they home season. or more importantly 5 of them want to only play home at oct-feb. when the FTP was signed SA, NZ etc had a lot more test matches but quite few of them were played at odd times. Sri lanka and west indies are another board that generally host a lot of games during the rainy season and Bangladesh likewise. think Bangladesh are scheduled to tour Australia during the winter again but not sure on the dates. WI probably need to find a window for cricket, surely they could use the Sep-Nov window and not the june-August they do now. Gidean Haigh famous quote say it all really. "Does cricket make money to exist or does it exist to make money? considering really WICB, Ban, Sri lanka and few other boards know it will rain or most of the games will be a washout but the tv money outweigh the rain risk especially if india or england are touring. |

another game called off in winter because of the poor outfield.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/australi...y/1049553.html I think this was mackay first game in winter since only really townsville host winter games in Australia. although Darwin and Cairns or possibly townsville will host 2 test matches next year against Bangladesh, http://www.espncricinfo.com/australi...y/1049553.html think the Aussie youngsters are top of the table with Australia A 3rd in the table. |

bit of a rollercoaster first innings for sri lnaka so far
in trouble at 12-2, then have a cracking partnership of 135 between mendis and chandimal, but both get out within a couple of overs so 2 new batsmen in again with sri lanka now 147-4 after 27 overs bit of a lucky lbw to get chandimal imo, wade made a mess of an easy stumping chance and persuaded smith to go for the review for lbw, no-one else was really that interested, and it was given out on review |
