TBH pretoria and Durban are normally dry in the winter months.
so they could still play cricket there just like Queensland and Darwin can play cricket in the winter in Australia and Darwin/Queensland regularly host A Tours, Under 19 and club cricket during the winter.
going to be quite common now since SA, NZ and the non 3 big teams have to play or host cricket outside the traditional window otherwise they will never actually play much cricket considering 6 or 7 teams call Sep-April they home season.
or more importantly 5 of them want to only play home at oct-feb.
when the FTP was signed SA, NZ etc had a lot more test matches but quite few of them were played at odd times.
Sri lanka and west indies are another board that generally host a lot of games during the rainy season and Bangladesh likewise.
think Bangladesh are scheduled to tour Australia during the winter again but not sure on the dates.
WI probably need to find a window for cricket, surely they could use the Sep-Nov window and not the june-August they do now.
Gidean Haigh famous quote say it all really.
"Does cricket make money to exist or does it exist to make money?
considering really WICB, Ban, Sri lanka and few other boards know it will rain or most of the games will be a washout but the tv money outweigh the rain risk especially if india or england are touring.
