this today is a sign of just how good buttler is in these situations, you almost expect him to do what he is doing

just turned it on the last couple of overs and all of a sudden he goes to 55 from just 33 balls

buttler gets out to an absolutely filthy delivery from shakib, a thigh high full toss that would also have been a wide

looks like we are going to be around 10-15 runs short of where i thought we would get to, but hopefully will be enough on a pitch that looks like it got a little slow

edit : 309-8 in the end so bangladesh need 310 to win

went to the bank and just saw the score how did england only end up with 309 also it looked like without buttler finish england would struggle to get 290.

at the moment would say england are about 10 runs above par, if due arrives batting get easier in the middle/end, but if due doesn't arrive England should win easily assuming the bowlers bowl well.

think it was 3 or 5 yrs ago when this ground had so much due that any team chasing won so easily, Bangladesh even made the final of the asia cup.
if anything it was that asia cup that gave confidence to the batting group that they can win games in odi and got the abilty to bat well in most or all games.
since then can't remember the last time Bangladesh collapsed in a heap in odi or Test for the matter.

think the game depends on the due now, generally if due hits the ball will come to the bat and the offcutter/leg cutter and the spinners are so much easier to hit and score runs off. Generally the due could be the difference of 30-40 runs in Subcontinent maybe even more.

good sign for england that they got 300 in a slow pitch.
in the old days they would get 230 and sri lanka, india would chase the total with ease within 30 overs.

I know cricviz predictor is shit but they having Bangladesh 63% likely to win right now lol.
not sure I agree with that england should be around 60% likely to win.

looks like market agrees with me England 1.22

England would have to do well here to win, due arrived.
batting looks easier with the ball coming on to the bat.

Bairstow, injured probably out of the odi series and maybe for the test series.
got a strain on his hamstring I think, will try and find out the actual injury one of the journo tweeted it.

Quote:
“Bairstow off the field having treatment on a hip flexor strain.”

wow that is an awful drop from buttler, looks like captaincy is affecting his keeping.

That was such an easy take and he dropped it.

If what knight is right which I take with a pinch of salt, then the English management need a sacking if they honestly thought batting will get tougher in the 2nd innings with the pitch getting slower and lower, surely they seen loads of games in Bangladesh before.
Never in my life have I seen the pitch change for the worse in Bangladesh during an odi games, most of the time the batting gets easy.
baffling if true.

Although not sure England should be too upset with the loss, they actually played well and lost to a better side.

Islam got history of winning games from a similar situation against england with 2 wicket left although last time in 2011 he had Mahmudallah a front line batsman.

he bowled well, he got the Stuart broad ability of taking 3-4 wickets in a short spell.
