Wonder if Bangladesh will set the 7-3 or the 8-2 field although would be pretty tough on mehedi to bowl on that field.
lol Ali luck continues.
Saying that ali look comfortable at the moment, looks like time in the crease for him worked well.

May be a little unfar, but I think that may be the end for Ballance

Ballance out.

Is 10 runs over two innings enough?

not sure if that was unlucky or not for ballance

it was a cracking catch but he must have known the fielder was there when he plays the shot so its always a risk

As a staunch Yorkshireman and a huge fan of Ballance, i think it is time he took an international sabbatical. He just isn't doing it for England like he was, he didn't particularly have a great season for Yorkshire. Let him have a season with his county working out his foibles.

When he was first picked he was the obvious choice but England now have an abundance of young players knocking on the door. Bairstow at 4 with Buttler with the gloves is one obvious option.

I always thought Ballance was a little unlucky to be dropped first time around but he did hardly anything for Yorkshire to justify being recalled and has done even less since then to keep his place in the side.

I think a future career as an umpire calls for Moeen once his playing days are over. He seems to be able to judge LBWs well and knows the ins and outs of the laws of cricket.

I think there's every chance that Bangla could be batting before close of play

Bairstow goes past Flowers record of the most runs in a calendar year by a 'keeper

With 6 more Tests to go, JB (1046 so far) must have a chance of going past the 1486 by Michael Vaughan who holds the record for England

Yeah

I find it hard to bet against England when I am watching

It's far easier doing it when only following on Cricinfo

It seemed an extra-ordainary high opening quote though given what had happened on the first 2 days

It's currently 182 - 190

I'd settle for that total now

10 wickets down before I could drag myself out of bed. Looks like it's been quite a day's play so far.

On TMS , they've spotted the ball hitting the helmet and added 5 runs to the total

Glanced up at the TV and it's not showing ?

EDIT It is now

Could be crucial....

Aggers , Daggers and Dan Norcross doing the comms
Vic Marks , Ebony Rainford-Brent and Attar Ali Khan doing the summaries

and not forgetting the excellent Andrew on scoring (and unusual stats !)

Enjoying their chat as well

I have to say this pitch has helped the Test. It isn't one where the first innings decides the match, allows for wickets for good deliveries and getting a good score is through decent batting rather than an easy wicket.

Fifties and centuries should be for a good innings rather than being default for the pitch.

Been watching the rugby so haven't seen much of today's play but scoring does seem much easier as the ball gets softer
Both teams' have scored more freely in the 'middle overs'

This could mean it would be best to play the spinners with new ball and the seamers as it starts becoming soft?

Although those last two deliveries still shows there is something for the spinners.

feeling a little more relaxed with how this partnership has gone, in a low scoring game it just needs that one good partnership to make a difference

would still like at least another 100 runs in this innings tho

With Shafiul off the pitch injured and Kamrul not looking up to it, Bangla really missing the injured Mustafizur Rahman and his reverse swing

Think England may have just edged the session as well with 80/2 ?

From TMS :

England have had 18 x 6th wicket partnerships this year

3 x 100
9 x50

The next best is the 7th wicket

Where are the top order partnerships....?
