86/2 at lunch needing another 200

Spreads have Bangladesh 2nd inns runs at 224-232

Seems a bit low. Can see them getting a lot closer than that

terrific delivery from Moeen gets rid of one of the dangermen

140/5

England must fancy their chances of wrapping this game up today

still 42 overs left so you would hope we can wrap up the tail in that time

Yes , you're probably right

One thing from yesterday was that they played out the full allotted overs with the aid of the floodlights as the sun had gone down

I understood that in Test matches, you had to have natural light that can be aided by the floodlights (as happened at the Oval in the final Ashes Test )

Dunno if they've changed the laws?

not sure , maybe with it being spinners on they thought the light was good enough

I agree that was the reason but I'm sure that Australia were bowling spinners at the Oval as well as they were trying to win the 'dead rubber'

Can't remember exactly, but I'm sure the reason given for the curtail of play being that there had to be natural light

Bangladesh not given this game up yet. Could be a nail-biter yet....

One of the reasons I was asking about the floodlights was that the 2nd new ball would be due towards the end of play and if the extra half hour were to be taken , would it make a difference to them staying out there if Stokes was bowling ?

Wait and see I guess

NZ gone off at a pace in the ODI in India 46/1 in the 7th

There's been a tweak in England - dunno if it's international - that under lights they could stay out longer, especially if spinners are on. I've seen umpires ask captains if they want to put slower bowlers on to stay out there under lights.

I think they do what they did in the first innings and collapse once (if ?) we get one of these

(fingers crossed )

I'm guessing that if England lose , it will change their plans for the 2nd Test

It had been suggested that they would rotate players to help with acclimatising and also to protect them from the hot and humid conditions

Ball and Finn may miss out, but Hameed and Buttler must play and Anzari in for Batty as well ?

Spreads still have England winning by 20 runs

Fixed odds are each of 2

This commentator on TMS....................one of the new ones................is being incredibly condescending about Bangladesh suggesting that the players will be given knighthoods and freedom of the City and their choice of virgins etc etc etc

the Bangladeshi commentator is trying to restore a bit of balance saying they're professional cricketers beating another team of professional cricketers ..............it's their job. It's not as though England are unbeatable against good spinners !

Yeah, I heard that. Although it will be an excellent achievement, don't think it's that much of a surprise

Certainly, if we play like this in India, we will do well to make day 5 of the Tests

That dropped catch by Bairstow could be a crucial moment....

lets face it we just dont have the quality of spinner we had last time we were in india for tests and we are going to inevitably see wickets that heavily favour spin

if we get anything out of that series i will be happy
