Was two right handers in. Think Rashid was the right option just they waited too long to use him.

Another wicket. Tailenders now

Shouldn't have waited that long though especially with no breakthrough and then seeing what happened with the delivery that got Rahim (hindsight, I know)

Cook still has a lot to learn with rotation and fielding places yet

He probably didn't want two off spinners bowling at the same time. didn't watch the action but suspect looking at the scoreboard the spinners were getting tired.

Doesn't look like the spinners bowled too well either.

broad gets another, maybe not as important as some of the other great spells he has had but much needed

Ah ok guessing Cook had no trust in his spinners then.
he probably thought the spinners were going to lose the game.
would still bowled one of them with a pace men.
Would only bowl pace if the ball reversing in these conditions.

Yeah very odd, guessing he waiting patiently at the other end for the seam bowlers to get tired so he can face the spinners.
not sure cook will bowl them unless forced to by the umpire.

... or he felt the seamers may make the vital break-through, as Broad has done now. Would have made the earlier one two if JB hadn't dropped one

In the end it's a weird pitch, new ball seems better for the spinners, older ball better for seamers. Reverse to normal.

Guess Broad has staved off being "dropped" for another match, yet ironically this spell might mean he's more likely to be rested.

All fair points but Batty had looked the most likely of our bowlers in the first half of the innings and certainly bowled loads better than he did in the first innings.

Hopefully we'll win and it wont matter
