Woakes and Moeen about to see us get past the follow on target ( though I doubt it would have been enforced)
Think AB should be taking care of Rabada and not over-bowling him It's nice to win but it's a dead rubber.. |

Of course we have the women's premier league which is a franchise 20-20 competition this coming season
I wonder if the ECB might be looking at that as a template for a franchise Big Bash competition.........say 6 or 8 teams to be decided in a bidding process open to the counties and anyone else who wants to bid. You could imagine someone like Manchester United might be interested........they could lease Old Trafford cricket ground to play the games, have enough money to bring in the top stars from around the world, can cross promote to their soccer season ticket holders and general fan base and probably fill the stadium for every game........and strengthen their 'brand' in the sub-continent The 'problems' are apparent.........the counties will be dead against it even if it takes place alongside a County 20-20 Competition which by comparison would look like non League football against the Premier League The problem of whether England players will be free to play........and if they are how will it fit into a crowded calendar to avoid clashing with England games the weather.........start getting a few abandoned games and will the public lose interest and/or will the competition be decided by the weather |

not sure football grounds would have a big enough playing area to host cricket , the width of football pitches is only about 60-70 yards and not much spare beyond that before the seats , so we would end up with 35-40 yard boundaries

Before the game Cook was all over the radio telling us there'd be no let up, every game was important etc etc.........but on that first day in particular England were just 'on the beach' The series losing team have a lot more to play for as the players are probably under pressure for their places having lost the series England used to regularly win the dead rubbers at The Oval after losing series It seems to be a problem endemic to sport..........it happens in football as well if a team has won the title with a couple of games to go they often lose them |

Going to be an awkward declaration to make with the weather a bit iffy and a bowler down
Probably aim for 400 in 120 overs which would make the new ball available shortly before tea should they need it |

Listened to TMS today as I was on a long drive and Boycott is so annoying Yorkie batsmen get out 'it's a good ball' Taylor and Stokes get out and he slaughters them

The one thing Boycs is not is partisan when it comes to criticising today's players. He calls it how he sees it.
