Watched the first couple of hours of NZ v PAK - heart sinks. Franky Lancashire seconds at Bowdon get a bigger crowd than the couple of hundred there. Test cricket needs a kick-start rather than these series which are no more than friendlies in so far as world competition goes.

How much more interest would there be if tests were worth points on a world league table? And the crowds in India aren't much to write home about either.

Awful shot from Root and we are in big trouble again

Be surprised if we reach the follow on target although it doesn't seem to get enforced that often

Moeen out with a review

Long way down the pitch but that doesn't seem to matter any more

England players are so out of their depth when the ball turns.
England pretty much got a long tail when the ball turning with Duckett at 4, Ali 5, Stokes 6,

Thing is,if Xmas came every other week,it would lose its glamour abit (thinking as a 10 year old !) There are so many tests now (and ofcourse "100s" of ODIs its lost or losing its appeal ? The other day, they mentioned Moeen playing for Worcs,I thought,is he !? Hardly gets the time does he ? You can have too much of a good thing........

The England cricket team are not nearly as good as they think they are. Living in a pay-tv media bubble, where the hardest question form a Sky pundit is probably: did you have a nice lunch ?

They lose a test match to Bangladesh, one wonders what fraction of financial, coaching and training resources that poor country has compared to England ?

Honestly, hope India stuff 'em.

Perhaps they were given too much for lunch

Gatt got more than 200 off them once, and he used to like a chip or two

Great series that one I was laid up in bed and was loving that big madras innings he tucked into. Gatt and Fowler seemed beyond the Indians reach that day.

Anyway out of my bed and back to earth with a bump and the reality of today. Duckett doesnt seem to have much of a clue facing Ashwin so although it may appear harsh and hasty I'd prefer to see his place taken by Butler going in lower down for some late middle order big hitting I hope.

My confidence in Ansari is shaken too but perhaps he can be given a chance or more in this test series.

The thing is with Zafar is there is no third spin bowling alternative apart from him I mean picking Batty wasn't serious in my view. Ansari has to play for us unless he bowls too many spells full of pies that go for 6 - 8 an over. I want to believe in him now but the way he was dealt with was sad to hear.

England fast bowler Stuart Broad is to have a scan on his right foot after feeling more pain during the second day's play in Visakhapatnam.

Even if the scan clears Broad of any serious injury, it seems most unlikely that he will be considered for the third Test, which starts in Mohali on November 26.

Why do they need so many spin options? They didn't have them the last time we won in India

They did with Samit patel, Panesar and Swann playing.

NZ have collapsed to 171-8, a lead of 38 over Pakistan.

That De Grandhomme for NZ has the finest 'tache I've seen in a long time.

Excellent first hour for England adding 55 for no wickets at 158/5

Another good partnership ftom Stokes and Bairstow who are approaching the record for the best aggregate partnerships in a calendar year

That just seemed to be a timewaster because the Stokes review took a long time before the umpire decided he could not conclusively say that there was an inside edge but had there been, Stokes would have been out caught anyway.

Ansari wastes England's last review and then Broad is given LBW. Tries to review straightaway which the umpire accepts then realises that there are no reviews left

Replays confirm it would have been out anyway

Jimmy goes 1st ball and we're all out for 255- 200 behind

Ashwin gets his first fivefer against England and will be on a hat-trick when he next bowls

No follow on

Just said on the radio that Jimmy has now equalled the most ever ducks by an England player
20 ducks in the 109 innings since setting the record of 54 games without a duck !

Broad is on the field which didn't seem likely from the reports of him going for a scan on his foot

Was just channel hopping to see if I could find if anyone was showing the Zimbabwe/West Indies game and bumped into Ravi Bopara being interviewed

Prime TV on Sky channel 792 is showing the Bangladesh T20 league live
