15 runs in the first hour after tea

I don't mind really after what we've seen in the last few years.........I just want a top 3 that can get us to 100-1 then we've got plenty of biffers lower down to take advantage of a solid start

Anyway the first objective here a is to secure the draw and if these two are still batting at teatime tomorrow we should do that !

already a couple of boundaries after tea so perhaps they're getting on top now......

They don't know what they're missing

Lucky for Cook on that review. Looked out in real time

Indian players trying to put the umpires under pressure- we must be doing well

Then send in Stokes and Bairstow to 'do a Sehwag'

That would be a good watch

Oh dear- I think Kohli may explode here - Another Umpire's call

Both reviews gone

Kohli

Do agree with Botham though that you shouldn't lose a review if it's Umpire's Call like that.

I think Virat may be losing some of his match fee here...

Tremendous effort from the openers

I thought the second one was very borderline. I'm sure the England players would have been miffed if the positions had been reversed.

I suppose the only problem with that is there'll be reviews every few deliveries.......a lot of them will be clipping the wicket even if given not out because of the 'element of doubt' in the umpires decision.........there's a lot of close calls in any day's play and lot of them will be clipping the stumps

we might swing the other way and get fed up of constant stoppages

Poor Hameed

Run out by his partner and now a grubber

Hope Root can survive 30 balls as that seems to be the mark for getting in

oh dear.....a grubber does for Hameed

the odds are shifting heavily in India's favour over half an hour's play after lunch when the pitch suddenly looks devilish........

Suspect neutral would enjoy it as well.

TBH the new Umpire calls made it harder for umpire call to actually show up, so suspect umpire calls might just be given back to the teams.
BCCI will give a report after the trial and suspect umpire call might be a topic, wouldn't surprise me if they changed rules on it like what botham says.
very easier to do now as well with it very unlikely to be umpire calls now, think the scientist are saying 75% reduction in umpire call compared to the old system.

Excellent 50 for the Captain

His slowest out of all the ones he has got

I don't think they should have a say- it should be up to the Governing body

Not impressed with the histrionics of the India fielders either

Besides, it doesn't strike me as the best way to get the umpire on your side

Big wicket in the last over that makes survival tomorrow very unlikely

Cook out right at the end, review wasted.

Jadeja is an absolute gobshite. Are they going to do anything about him continually running on the pitch every time he launches into one of his OTT appeals?

TBH it is the governing body that wants the meeting since they do what India to use DRS full time and most of the people in the governing body don't like the umpire call so it is likely to get tinkered with if BCCI say they not fans of it.

yeah suspect they been reading some tweets from the journalist, basically they think if they appeal like crazy Dharmasena might give the decision and the umpire call goes their way lol.
Think it was Nasser that said appealing is more important now than before if you want the umpire call to go the bowlers way lol.
doesn't look that great on tv.

Dharmasena confidence gone as well think many have said he starting to give decision on the appeal, so not a bad idea to appeal like crazy while he umpiring especially if you have no DRS left.

could ban him from bowling.
Umpires generally don't do anything though while he batting or bowling.
umpires need to be strict since he always doing it, especially on this pitch where the footmarks appear very quickly should be very easy to tell if anyone been stepping on the pitch straightaway.
