could ban him from bowling.
Umpires generally don't do anything though while he batting or bowling. umpires need to be strict since he always doing it, especially on this pitch where the footmarks appear very quickly should be very easy to tell if anyone been stepping on the pitch straightaway. It seems straightforward to me with this. The 3rd umpire watches the bowling closely and repeatedly and if he spots any bowler or even a fielder getting onto the red zone then give them a warning etc. Its tactical and its cynical to cause further wear to the pitch. Dealing with crafty batsman running on the pitch appears to me less easy to punish. |

We'll probably lose tomorrow but at least we haven't collapsed like we did in Dhaka. I never expected anything less than a 4 or 5-0 Indian series victory so it is a nice surprise to see us performing better than expected.

Jadeja running down the pitch when over- appealing again.
He got warned when he was batting as well Quote:
Jadeja is an absolute gobshite. Are they going to do anything about him continually running on the pitch every time he launches into one of his OTT appeals?

TBH the new Umpire calls made it harder for umpire call to actually show up, so suspect umpire calls might just be given back to the teams.
BCCI will give a report after the trial and suspect umpire call might be a topic, wouldn't surprise me if they changed rules on it like what botham says |

Ducket not ready for Test cricket.
The Elite Umpire guesses wrongly again. |

Not the start we hoped for with Duckett out with what will probably be his last innings for a while
Root successfully reviews a caught behind from another poor decision as well as being dropped by Kohli The umpires are getting a break after this game as well which they'll probobly be thankful for as well |

The Elite Umpire guesses wrongly again. Put him away until next summer and replace him in the next test with Butler. |

Disappointing end especially after how well we batted yesterday
Guess there will have to be changes Duckett and Ansari look the obvious casualties with Buttler and Woakes replacing them ? |

3 changes likely to happen.
Ansari, duckett and Broad out. Batty, Finn, Ball, Butter all in consideration. Suspect England might go with 4 fast bowlers in mohali but that might mean a long tail and them picking an attack on ground reputation and not what it is now. |

I'd bring them all home now and take a 1-0 series loss. They clearly lack the skills to compete effectively in these conditions and are bringing shame on Queen and country.

No changes for India I guess with Rahul getting another chance ? |

Let's not panic, though there surely will be changes. I'm guessing Broad will be unfit/rested so Woakes will come in there. Could be similar with Ansari with Batty or Ball coming in, depending on the pitch. Finally, it would be against the management's usual policy to drop Duckett though they might make an exception, even though there's no straightforward replacement.

Going from the high of seeing Murray win, to the low seeing us capitulate here, some turnaround for British sport, in a relatively short time frame!

![]() Do agree with Botham though that you shouldn't lose a review if it's Umpire's Call like that. |

Would you not have Woakes back in the team , Bhav ?
No changes for India I guess with Rahul getting another chance ? but yeah he comes back in, think they still going for 4 pace men so it is batty or another pace men playing which is why I included Finn or ball name. |

Batting well yesterday is totally irrelevant, if we collapse as we did once again.

What does James Hildrith have to do to get a chance for England ? Butler is not the answer for Englands No 4. Neither is Ali ( who is not the answer for number 5 either ) We took 20 wickets in this game. The problem was the batting |

England are so predictable. It's a shame I didn't have a bet on them collapsing AGAIN!
Why do you never ever post anything positive or constructive ? All your posts are so demoralising. I know you are a half glass empty man, you have told us that before, but surely the fact they didn't lose the first test and they have taken India, in India, to a 5th day isn't cause for doom and gloom is it ? Nobody expects them to win this series but to read some posts on here its like we have performed shockingly bad, we haven't. India in India are BLOODY GOOD and not easy to beat. I will ask you a question and ask you, nicely, to answer it please - Who would be your England XI then ? Seeing as we obviously don't have the right team. |
