I would guess Jennings will go straight into the team for Hameed. Also I guess Batty will drop out. Dawson could come in but more likely Broad (if fit).

Ashwin killing left handers on some docile pitches at the moment, going to be quite tough having Cook, Jennings, Ali, Stokes in the top 6.
Cook, Ali been struggling lately, tough on jenning to bat against someone at his peak, you can generally tell a spinner bowling well when he beats batsman on drift and dip.
stokes batting the best at the moment but even then getting out to some gems from Ashwin.

Worry for england would be they now playing on Mumbai and Chennai which got a reputation for spinning on day 1.
Red soils pitches tend to spin quite early and deteriorate quickly which is what some english journalist don't understand why Dawson got picked since in a rank turner england will pick another batsman and even if they pick a 3rd spinner dawson hardly going to bowl if they don't trust Batty.
Dawson a baffling choice considering an extra batsman or leach would have been a better choice.

Murali vijay and Rahane should not play the next test. Hope Lokesh Rahul and Rohit Sharma are fit.

England are really a bits and pieces side at the moment, with so many players, especially around the middle order, not having real, set roles.

As a Hampshire fan, no way should Liam Dawson be anywhere near that test squad. Solid player, but not test class.

Think a lot of our problems lies with the two-division system. Sure, if you are in the first then you should get to play against quality opposition all the time and therefore learn and be equipped for Tests, but for players that are good but in the second division, maybe finding it a bit easy, they aren't being tested as they would in the first, whereas if we had one large division (as used to be) then at least half the games would be challenging.

Q - would Hameed, at 19, have been picked if his season average was 50 but in the second division?? Would Duckett be a better equipped player had he been playing first division cricket?

Home advantage is just too great. Its a combination of weather (col vs hot) humidity (lack of in Uk) and pitches.

I disagree about England. They are an OK team away, dependant on the opposition and a good team at home. Short of quality batters.
