Perhaps they should have a squad rotation system where, when they play India, they leave Cook at home and choose a batsman that 1) can play spin and 2) doesn't make the same mistake time and time again,

They're as bewildered as Molina was last night. Just look at their body language. This will be over very quickly and as I've seen this so many times before, I'm off out for something much more appetising, a full English.

Positive thought

There are approx 135 overs left. Score at 4 an over for 100 overs giving us 400 and a lead of 170 . Then bowl out India in 35 overs as they go for a mad run chase

or maybe I'm still inebriated.......

Nurse !

We keep talking about how good our batting line up is but when you look at the stats it doesn't add up

Hope we show some fight here and try and take it to the last session

50 for Root

Not sure how he survived a previous Jadeja over

Bairstow and Root doing more than just surviving now

More of a one-day approach as the scoreboard is moving along quite nicely

106/3

Would be hugely surprised if most of the Indian team don't get fined for over zealous appealing including running at the umpire as well as over the wicket

I would.

They've been doing it all series and no action has been taken so far.

Fair point, but something should be done

Jadeja just ran down the pitch again

They've been doing it for years. Do you remember a player called Chetam Sharma ? He was awful at it

I am in the minority in here who DOESNT think England are pathetic and no good ? I'm a realist, and a positive thinker and I never ever expected us to win this series. India in India on those pitches with the worlds best spinner was never going to be easy. If you think otherwise you are vastly underestimating India at home.

Good job Bairstow reviewed as the umpire missed the overstepping

For me, it's not that that I think they are pathetic and no good, it's that they haven't performed to the level that their ability suggests that they should

I have no problem with being outplayed by a team that is fantastic in it's own conditions, but I think we have contributed too much too our own downfall

Team selection and the Captain's tactics have also been a huge factor

Root has done his job but it is the other three who have failed.

Do you think it was a good idea to pick four seamers on what is a spinners pitch.

Boycott said it was better to see the make up of the side of the home team for each venue. For example Australia don't pick four spinners at home so you shouldn't and India don't pick four seamers here.

Or is it the case we don't have the spinners to pick?

Probably all the above

We don't have any world class spinners, not even close, sadly. Had Batty played instead of Ball, would it have made a difference ? Who knows.

I do get fed up though of the serial posters who just post doom and gloom but have absolutely no constructive answer. You ask them who they would pick etc and of course they aren't up to answering.
