It was sarcasm aimed at Nick 'Viv' Compton. what was he thinking playing that big shot in the last over of the session. I can't recall Chris Tavare ever playing like that in tests. |

I can't recall Chris Tavare ever playing like that in tests. He may well have done but I would have probably been asleep by then...... ![]()

That's pisspoor from Root. If Hales had played that shot to get out it would be used as evidence that he's not up to Test cricket.

looks like England pushing India close to the tile of the most busiest year, although reckon India will always edge it if you include IPL/Odi.
![]() England scheduled to play 17 test this year. 3 South africa 3 Sri lanka 4 pakistan 2 bangladesh 5 india 17 test although ban is questionable and india is either 4 or 5. although India only playing 14 test from January to January. India journo suggesting 5 test matches still. |

Well Englande ahead, but still an interesting session with our lower order being so mercurial, could smash a 100 quick runs, or get out playing silly buggers.

Tremendous partnership between Stokes and Bairstow put England back on top
You'd think that our bowling attack is better than theirs so whatever we get I reckon we should expect a 100 run first innings lead I mean.......if it's a 450 pitch for us against their bowlers it should be a 350 pitch for them against ours ! |

Can't remember a start to the day like this , not even from the Aussies when they were dominating
150 partnership off 149 balls |
