root this winter as pretty much shown me he as the potential to be an all time great.
He probably the first english batsman since the days of boycott etc to even have the title of being in the top 2-3 batsman in his era.

Very interesting battle between Root, Smith, Willamson, Kohli especially when everyone always arguing which batsman is the best in twitter, cricketing forums etc.

it just like the days between Ponting, Lara, Tendulkar

True enough... Kohli has fallen below that level at the mo hasnt he?
Really surprising how De Villiers has performed this winter follwoing on from the tour of India... Over the last couple of years he had been peerless...

Fantastic caught and bowled from Topley

72 needed off 76 at 192/6

Going down to the last over me thinks

The last wicket is the first to be out caught in the SA innings

All 10 English wickets were catches

Pitch slowing down or England being over-aggressive possibly ?

SA folding at 210/8 and then another dropped catch

For what was supposed to have been a runfest today, there have been only 2 sixes

Well done Adil Rashid if you held that catch off Morris it would over and done now

Surley England aren't going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

Great batting from Morris

Showing why he cost so much in the IPL

This is an amazing innings by Morris! 50 from 30 balls! Who'd have thought that at 210-8.

Broad's first three balls of his latest over - 6, 4 & 4
What a turn around!

He's had a game to forget that's for sure.
But Rashid dropping that easy chance will want to forget this game even more!

Woeful from Broad

Hats off to Chris Morris but Rashid catches him this one was done 5 overs ago

Rashid gets rid of Morris, but he should have had him much earlier.
Rashid has cost England the game.

Shame we didn't bat our full 50 overs

South Africa have won by one wicket.
Wow, who would have thought that at 210-8?
Poor captaincy and poor fielding cost England.

First time in ages Morgan has had a poor game as captain when Morris got on a roll he should brought a spinner on

A batsman is smacking it over midwicket so you keep bowling that length at him. Seems sensible.

Broad demonstrating why he doesn't play ODIs any more, still thinking he's bowling in a Test match and has 3 slips to play with.

Well at least Sunday's game will be meaningful.

From a certain point of view the series going 2-2 is a good thing.

Excellent striking from Morris

Didn't think at 108/6 we would take it so close

Previous line ups of ours would have collapsed quickly from there

This side is showing that it can dig in

Disappointing not to win but some good things shining through

that one had me thinking......

when he caught it the batsman at the bowlers end was well out of his crease........could he have claimed the catch then ran the non striking batsman out ?

or is the ball dead when a catch is taken ?

(I know you can run out both batsmen off the one delivery but not sure if you can do a catch and run out double ?)

voges stats are pretty remarkable

this innings has him almost touching an average of 100 after 15 tests, and when you consider his place was being questioned after a poor ashes series and whether they should give someone younger a chance its even more impressive

edit : at this point he has scored something like 550 runs since he was last dismissed
