Anyone know if the scores are level whether it's a tie or a Supa-over ?

T-20 almost always Supa-ova.
Good we had the extra bowler here really. Looks like Morris and Abbott have delivered a match winning partnership again though

Terrible last over from Topley there.
But that was exciting. If the ECB have any brains they will get the T20 onto terrestrial telly. Maybe a joint venture with Sky. This is the variant of the game that will get the youngsters into cricket. |

When you add in the dropped catch in the previous over, Topley has almost singlehandedly cost us that.

Few positives to take out of that though. Jordan bowled ( and batted ) very well.
Like Mimi and his calls for Taylor in the ODI side, I would love Vince to start but at the expense of who ? One of the spinners ? Maybe not as the world cup is in India. Morgan ? Probably not going to happen. Stokes ? Could be but then we are down to 3 seamers and no part timer |

williamson still sitting on 3 runs from 54 deliveries now and mccullum has come out and scored 26 off 10
not sure how sensible this is but he is certainly not bowing out meekly |

well that was an entertaining session
on a dodgy looking pitch NZ go in at lunch 74-3 from 26 overs, which on paper sounds like a fairly pedestrian type session but it was a weird session NZ 32-3 from 20 overs when mccullum came out to bat and looking in serious trouble 6 overs and 42 runs later its game on again |

at the risk of repeating myself what a bizarre and incredible few hours of test cricket we have seen so far in christchurch
NZ score 32 runs in the first 20 overs and lose 3 wickets in the next 20 overs they lose one more wicket but score 178 runs, thats a pretty decent score in a t20 let alone a test match on a greentop after the start they had |

mccullum out for 145 from just 79 deliveries
international cricket will be poorer without him , not many people around, if any, that could have played that innings today, on this pitch, after coming in at 32-3 |

So pleased i saw it. Day1 of a test match on a green top with the batting team 4 wkts down........... and then we see the fastest test century ever in a partnership of 179 runs in just 18.4 overs (so around 1 hour and 20 mins of a session) |

Sorry but that is absolutely rubbish. Sorry to be so blunt but I hate it when people single out one person for a team performance. Topley didn't even bat yet England managed a poor score. You cannot blame him for that.

Agree with you here. It was like the recent ODI where Eng batted rubbish and then bowled brilliantly to almost defend that score until Chris Morris appeared and smacked a few into the crowd. We did superbly to take a score of just 134 to the last ball. A couple of slightly over pitched balls by Topley at start of over 20 that disappeared for 10 runs was not the reason we lost today.
Anyway Southee must be a frustrating cricketer for the kiwis with the bat, so much talent never seems to do it under pressure though. Amazing amount of 6's per innings, but mostly when they don't matter. |
