we could see NZ getting bowled out for around 300 here and there still be 30 overs left to play on day one

cracking innings from watling batting with the tail to get NZ up to a very healthy 370

that total looked impossible on this pitch and especially after the start they had

that innings had just about everything , great bowling from australia up front , one of the very best counter-attacking innings you'll ever see from mccullum, real roy of the rovers stuff in his final game with good support from anderson

agree woke up assumed Australia got NZ all out for 150 and then somehow found out NZ posted a match winning total in 65 overs.

Anyway Southee must be a frustrating cricketer for the kiwis with the bat, so much talent never seems to do it under pressure though. Amazing amount of 6's per innings, but mostly when they don't matter.”

Yeah Southee does look good while batting, surprise he hasn't had any success with the bat in the ODI/T20 you can actually see him being a successful lower order pinch hitter.

Think Chennai brought him for a decent amount for one year since they believed he could be a good lower order finisher and death bowler for them.
hasn't really delivered with the bat but it probably doesn't really matter too much with Southee improving loads with the ball since then.

Just watching the highlights and magnificent stuff from Bmac

Some great catches by Australia as well including the one that didn't count when Patinson overstepped the crease with McCullum on 39*

Corey Anderson looks like he can take over the mantle of attacking play for NZ as long as he can stay fit. He looks an awesome talent
Callum Collum

Absolutely amazing catch by Marsh to get McCullum out for 39 - except it was off a no-ball!

McCullum certainly made the most of his bit of luck, fantastic innings.

Great innings by McCullum. What a way to leave the test cricket arena than to batter your enemy to all parts of the ground for a rapid century. He now takes his place on the pantheon of greats and deposes Sir Viv for what was his relatively soft knock against our knackered side on the disastrous tour of 85/86. Well played Brendon.

not as dramatic as yesterday but this has been a pretty impressive partnership between burns and smith today

almost a simpsons joke to be made there

Just watched the highlights of Day 2 and Australia close at 363/4 with both centurions, Burns and Smith , out to identical shots shortly before the close
Just before the tea interval. Smith got hit by a short ball after taking his eyes off it and collapsed in the crease. Looked really nasty but he was able to continue after treatment
They showed loads of replays ahd I noticed his helmet didn't seem to have the extra bit on the back that were introduced after Phil Hughes got hit. I thought they had made that compulsory ?

The market has been bought and is trading at 174 - 180 before a ball is bowled

I could get out with 2 points profit

Morgan needs to contribute big time especially after running out Hales

That was some 6 from Buttler into the 2nd tier

Morgan looks out of nick

What a waste of time that was by the umpires referring an obvious bump ball unless it was an excuse to get all the advertisers' logo's on the big screen......

And then he hits back to back sixes

The 2nd led to a great one-handed catch in the crowd who didn't spill his beers

Last game of the Tour..........Morgan does enough to keep his place again !

They say that the best batsmen have great timing...........he certainly knows when to score some runs !

Newman wrote another pathetic article again.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cri...d-success.html
Quote:
“but two incidents in the closing days of this tour cannot help but raise questions over the man known affectionately to his team-mates as 'Sloppy Al'.

Hales sent his kit late to the hotel laundry so it did not look very professional to walk out to open the batting at Newlands with a borrowed shirt from Chris Woakes with tape all over it.

Then there was the decision of Hales — and others — to hire sports cars to drive to the Twenty20 warm-up game in Paarl once the management had given them permission to travel independently to the game. Did some players really have to turn up in a Ferrari, Porsche and a Jaguar F-type?

It wasn't a good look, boys, and that and the laundry lapse makes one wonder if Hales really does have the temperament for international cricket.”

the tshirt aspect does look wrong but then again it says nothing about the guy temperament for international cricket.
The car point is just dopey, England gave permission for them to drive on their own, I see no issue if the players wanted to drive in Ferrari, porsche and Jaquar.

Why was there even any doubt or need to go upstairs for that caught and bowled ?

it looked straightforward.......

quite a collapse.......but we should still get a decent total in the 170s or so

and another one........that's about 4 wickets in an over and a half.......

Even Nick Leeson couldn't have orchestrated a better collapse than this.
