Afridi out for 49 off 19 balls

I've not been watching his career that intently but it does seem that he's largely been living on past glories for about 5 years but managed to stay in the team.........

haven't followed pakistan that closely in t20s but i think he has probably been more effective as a bowler than he has with the bat over the last couple of years

His bowling is a real strength. If his hitting comes off it seems to be a bonus.

His bowling has been good enough to keep him in the team

feeling way more confident at the start of our campaign in this tournament than i did for the 50 over world cup last year

probably unwise to get hopes built up too much tho

going ok here

think we will need 180+ to give us a good chance of defending it

just got past the 180 mark finishing at 182-6

definitely in the game with that but it is a small-ish boundary so we will need to bowl well

Some dumb cricket from Bravo and Ramdin. Why play shots? Just take the single and let Gayle have the strike.

Need to sort out these wides. 7 after 13 overs, it's essentially given them an extra over plus the added runs.

Wasn't even close in the end.

Not making excuses - just rank bad bowling at times (maybe forced bad balls due to gayle's excellence); but if the wet ball is a problem for all teams bowling second then when it's played in countries with heavy dew; maybe (a) stop playing under lights or (b) play at a time of year when there's least dew - if possible or (c) split the game up into 10 overs, ie team bats 10, then the opponents bat 10 (or even the full 20) and the first team then finishes their innings.
But that final suggestion would be messy - but if a sopper has to come on and mop up the water and it hasn't been raining then there's something wrong.

England lack of experience in Indian conditions or IPL was telling here.

England were awful with the ball, suspect that was their first time ever playing with heavy due.
So many wides and the bowlers lost control of the ball.

Don't actually think the due was that bad, I thought it was more off England players not really playing much in these condition before.
not sure how many of the players have played day nighters in India, Bangladesh before.
the bowlers get better the more they play in these conditions.
think the bowlers need to practise more with the wet ball.

I think we've a good chance of beating Afghanistan, but I think we'll get hammered in the other games as we did today!
