Me too, definitely more so recently because there's too much T20 cricket. So before today i've not got into this tournament, other than obviously seeing most of Eng vs WI. And then a bit of Afgh vs SL. (Afghanistan are an ok side, to me it wouldn't have been a shock if theyd beaten SriL as ability wise they're not far off them. Or us)

But i did really enjoy today. Seeing the aussies lose and it being a match where runs weren't easy to come by made it an excellent watch. And Joe Root this evening constructing an innings properly, albeit with some more 'modern' shots thrown in, was a superb watch.

I wonder if this is another tournament SA will get a very bad welcome from the public when they get home?. If conceding 229 was atrocious, which it was, not being able to defend it with far better bowlers than the opposition is shameful!

In the cold light of day it must be noted we're on one win, one loss and our net run-rate is negative

We have to take Afghanistan to the cleaners and show no mercy to get that RR up, I hope in doing so we don't lose tons of wickets and make a dog's dinner of it!

what i think you could call a pedestrian start in the india-pakistan womens game this morning

india 7-2 after 6 overs

pakistan making really hard work of this run chase and they game has now been stopped because of rain

india were really dragging themselves back into this game but if it there is no more play pakistan will win by just 2 runs on D/L

They are shown as extras in the batting column. Years ago they were also shown as extras in the bowling column. The MCC then decided that because no balls and wides were the fault of the bowler they should count against them.

This, however, is not entirely fair to the bowler as no balls caused by the wicket wicket keeper or other fielders are not the fault of the bowler.

I think 100 might be a decent score on this pitch in the India v Pakistan game

Okay 100 may be conservative, but Pakistan on course for a decent score considering.

really hard to play any sort of big shot when there is as much turn as this , even jadeja's darts are turning a mile

After all the anticipation and hullaballu before the game....that was a total anti-climax! Wonder if any other sport can come up with the game not meeting the expectations?

At leats that group's now very interesting, NZ fairly certain to qualify so it's one of IND, PAK and AUS; does Bangladesh hold the key to who goes through, by results or run-rate?

Virat Kohli really is a great, intelligent batsman and seems to thrive under pressure rather than being cowed by it. I really hope that India make it out of the group - the atmosphere of the tournament wouldn't be the same without them.

Big blow for Bangla

Bangladesh left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and pacer Taskin Ahmed have been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect after an independent assessment found their bowling actions to be illegal. Both bowlers underwent assessments in Chennai last week, after being reported for suspect actions during the World T20 round-one match against Netherlands.

The pair returned to the side to play in Bangladesh's first match of the Super 10 stage, against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens, where Sunny took 2 for 34 and Taskin claimed 2 for 32. They can apply for a re-assessment at any stage after modifying their bowling actions. They may be allowed to play in the domestic league, pending the BCB's permission.
