Sarah Taylor the key here, since she played men cricket she been poor for England she really need to turn up today to win the game for England.
if she gets out cheaply, reckon England will struggle here.
if Australia bowl well and use the right bowlers at the right time, chasing 7 runs per over will be tough for England women.
Clearly the women currently don't have the power or wrist to score runs when the pitch are slow at the moment.
it feels like watching a ravi bopara innings atm , pushing the odd single around and slowly letting the required run rate creep up and hope they dont lose a wicket

I think they will choke. The aussies will tighten the screws.

If it is one match today to win i would prefer the mens to do it.
Wouldn't call it a choke considering chasing 7- 8 runs per over is tough in india especially for the women.

Very good over for england there.

was gonna post few seconds ago that not sure I would class Beaumont innings exceptional like the commentators have.
Good innings which could become a match losing innings if she gets out.

And now she gets out at the wrong time.
Taylor needs to see the game out now otherwise this game will go to the wire.
rest of the English team will struggle to score run a ball.

Good news for england is that australia is still bowling pace and their spinners are shit.
Pakistan, India, WI and even Bangladesh had far better spinners than Australia.

yeah if anything i thought she was holding us back , considering she is in the team sort of as pinch hitter at the top

sore one for sarah taylor there , if danny wyatt gets hit like that i'll volunteer to give her a rub down

australia big favourites now after those couple of wickets and the runs drying up a bit

said we needed to get well ahead of the rate early to avoid this situation

That Perry action looks a bit suspect to me. She is throwing the ball.

game over now

this is what happens when you dont take advantage of the period when you are in control , they coasted the first 10 overs

No surprise really.
England have been quite poor in this tournament, actually they been quite poor in the last 18 months.

England women are probably the most overrated sport team around.

barring a few players England women are quite ordinary.
on paper NZ and Australia far better and the gap between England, India, WI, SA is quite small now.

quite difficult when the women don't have a risk free boundary shot.
Reckon in this game they would have won if C Edwards had a runner.

always thought it was a tough chase but needing just over a run a ball with 10 wickets in hand with 10 overs left should have been a formality

She will play till she can't get into the team and seeing the rest of the batsman she can play for another 5 years.
she is still one of the best batsman in the world in the womens game.

she is , but depends how long she is prepared to play with the pain, especially if it starts to get worse

What a choke !

So........Sarah Taylor......should she be dropped and go away for a Re-Education camp until she can learn not to reverse sweep ?

She must have wasted an over and inevitably given her wicket away

Just don't do it !

Their fitness levels look really good. How come they just dont generate the power in any aspect of the game be it batting bowling or fielding? Cant be a gender issue. Its like watching Boycotts mum hitting the ball with a stick of rhubarb.

apparently she is quite happy to play for a few more years especially with the women schedule being quite light and the money is good.

She is definitely playing at the next 50 over world cup, she might retire after that and maybe start working for Sky if they show quite a bit of the Women domestic format.

Reckon she will only retire when she get a very good offer to leave the game.

it just comes down to upper body strength really and lack of bat speed

the one thing i've thought of a few times is that given how important reaction times are when facing seam bowling, i would have thought the fact that the bowlers are bowling quite a bit slower that the batsmen would have more time to react as an individual's reactions wont vary between men and women

dont know if that makes any sense or if i'm not explaining it very well

Wouldn't call it a choke, So many people saw it happening 10 overs ago.
Also reckon Sarah Taylor is the most overrated player, loads of people remember her from the 2009-11 period where she was the ABD of the women game.
but since then she hardly performs front of the cameras.

yeah even tho i thought they should have won not sure i would call it a choke either

all through the tournament we have seen it get pretty hard to score quickly late in the game and given the women just dont have the power to hit over the field, especially off slow bowling, its easy to get bogged down
