Where's Ballance in the pecking order?
Nowhere in terms of opening batsmen... And not sure he has done enough since being dropped or that there is space for him in the middle order for him to get back in at the mo

Would have Finn ahead of Willey right now.
not really sure about willey yet not sure he can be a 3rd seam option in Test cricket.
to be a 3rd bowler you have to really offer something with the ball.

Plus Mark wood was ok in the winter so would probably be 4th in the pecking order and then Plunkett and then Jack brooks.

Fantastic stuff - the team are showing such great confidence and form they will feel comfortable playing either India or the West Indies.

Worry is after a slow start (hey, they could have been first out of their own party!!) the Indians are warming to the task, and won't they have wickets prepared that assist them? That being said, I think the wickets have been just fine and nothing untoward; today's wicket looked greener than Old Trafford after a week's deluge!

The option is to include both in the squad and look at the wicket on the day, If it's green and might swing go for Willey (so Willey/Anderson, what a combo); if it's likely to give good bounce then Finn (Finn/Broad as above). Lovely to have this choice!

T-20 is very much the 'third' form of the game for me and as I only have Freeview I have not commented on this thread recently but I just wanted to say what a great performance that was by England and throughout the tournament after a very dodgy start.

Good luck on Sunday lads.

Agree with your 1-5 Eng Test bowlers - Jimmy, Broad, Finn, Wood, Plunkett. No idea after that!

I think the elation of us actually having a limited overs side that if anything are brilliantly (slightly) overachieving has gone to peoples heads. Guessing from cricinfo stats it looks like Willey isnt a regular selection for Northants 4-day side in County Div2. Just 5 matches in 2015 for Willey brought 14 wkts at 36.5 avg. A better 2014 though, 8 matches in Div1 with 19 wkts at 27.1

When he swings it he's quality but when there's no swing who knows if he's got any other tools, because he just looks very medium pace up & down. Today he only bowled 2 overs up, first up when a chance of some swing. 2016 should reveal all, assuming Willey is selected as 3rd or 4th seamer at Yorks

Who does Eng want in the finals. Gayle or Kohli?
Definitely WIndies and Gayle. WI more erratic and Gayle cant go big every time. Also i think we can almost any size score against WIndies attack Whereas India have a very good bowling attack for the conditions at Kolkata and surely one or two of their underperforming batsmen might remember how to play T20 in front of such huge support.

certainly a bit of KP about him with some of the clips into the on side he plays
I was talking about appearance not style of play
Poor Jason

england win the toss and bowl first , unchanged from the last game
Need to win the toss in the final !!!!

How can the umpire give that a wide when the ball went under the bat.
They are poor.

Bloody hell Buttler is slow, if dhoni was keeping that was out.
If that was Bairstow half 'The Verdict' would be dedicated to it

Good spell from Rashid that.
He is usually good.

When it comes to cricket intelligence what the hell do you know ? Absolutely bugger all.
Charming

with afridi it is 50-50.
he might want to tour England again with Pakistan lol.
He's still one of their best players

Who does Eng want in the finals. Gayle or Kohli?
Kohli is reliable Gayle is not

How many of the team who played today will be in the XI for the First Test which isn't that far away? Thinking they're in form, full of beans and confidence, can good 20/20 players really not hack it at Test level?
Root/Stokes/Ali guaranteed of course, Buttler's out of the squad and in the IPL which is massively disapponting for England/Lancashire fans, who else should be given a go?
Ali would not be in my team.

Interesting comment here from the journalist.
It's all well and good bellowing for change, but who are the alternates? And the answer is… well… we don't really know. Because away from Kate Cross, Fran Wilson and Lauren Winfield, there are but a handful of players in the wings. The player pool, as Robinson has stated, is not competitive enough.

But at the moment, it looks like England are contractually obliged not to look beyond their centrally contracted. And until they are brave enough - or even allowed - to do so, it is unlikely that things will change.

Beards seem to be the fashion in sport at the moment including presenters like Gary Lineker and Mark Pugatch and I hope it passes soon. It doesn't seem to have reached Sunderland though - very few beards here!

I think India will be hoping to win the toss and bat second. I wonder if Rahane or a bowler will come in for Youvraj.

Run lines 182-188.
Even money point around 170.
Market giving india around 12-15 run advantage which is ridiculous.
think the even money point should be around 190.

Rahane playing in home ground, with his fielding and batting is great for India. He keeps the board ticking. And can hit big sixes for a small man. Loving his inclusion.

Me too and I was surprised that he wasn't played in any of the group matches. I think West Indies should be favourites but I'd like India to win. The atmosphere is always great when they are playing.

West Indies have been very poor in the field which surprises me

Think they may have let India get 20 too many

If West Indies win, Gayle will be due a failure in the final. If India win, Kohli must surely be due a failure

All depends on a certain chris Gayle now. If he bats all the way through you would expect West Indies to win.
