First heat of the men's 400m was messy... There's a webcam for anybody who wants to see the construction of the WICh track. When was the last time a world championship (in any Olympic or other high(ish)-profile sport) was held in a warehouse? Quote:
Can someone explain how Tosin Oke can seemingly be Nigerian one week and British the next? Or are these championships an open event?

He said he's hoping to go sub-44 in Rio this year. It might be a blessing that only a few people could hear him.

You know it's bad when someone posts in the Youtube chat the hashtag #VincoForBritishChamps.

Someone else there just complimented Ortis Deley's commentary from Daegu! XD

Commentary on that pole vault was painful. Is Rooney's wife a pole-vaulter by any chance? He didn't seem to mention it

According to the British Athletics twitter feed it is Vinco who are producing the feeds.
It all makes sense now. They are a Sheffield company actually. Pray that the championships get moved well away in future. |

Rimmer DQ'd for running out of his lane! Doesn't have the standard. It was a tall order anyway because it's a shade faster than his indoor PB.

Oh dear. After that hard run, Rimmer's DQ. Sad for him.
Jamie Webb's running style down the straight there reminded me of Steve Ovett.... |

Ace Rimmer living up to his name in the 800m heats...with a DQ. Ouch.

For those of us old enough to remember, RAF Cosford was the regular venue for UK Indoor meets, which was an aircraft hanger.

Men's 60m hurdles heats about to start - GB has the WR in this, as well as the WJR for the 99cm variant. Quite incredible when you think about it...
(P.S. Is Pozzi injured again?) [Edit - I see he's competing, though Rooney did mention his fragility.] |

Blimey, the difference between the 'flash' time and the photo-finish time in that first heat was a full tenth - a downward revision, thankfully.

Kilty is DQ'd in the semis!! That could have cost him a place in the WICh team, and by definition the defence of his world title (ironically, he'd not even have been in Sopot if Dasaolu hadn't pulled up back then).

The Indoor Specialist (their words not mine!) DQ'ed... Normally I'd chuckle, but compared to what we have seen in other heats that was a bit rich.

Women's high jump should be underway now - it should between Pooley and Lake for the title; a couple of other upcoming multi-eventers are also in the field (they all seem to be quite good at this particular event...)

Speaking of multi-eventers - to paraphrase Kelly Sotherton, Lynsey Sharp runs like a heptathlete.
