Wow, Dasaolu looks great. I think he'll win going away with it.
Women's 60m is a two-horse race between DAS and Asha Philips. Should be a great race. Wish I felt a shred of sympathy for Kilty. Oh well. |

Pozzi wins a decent final. Will later confirm 2 year injury lay off..

And lets's hope that Andrew Pozzi can get through the next three weeks without doing his hamstring.

Clarke got the standard, so he'll probably be selected for Portland as well.
Niamh Emerson and Abby Ward (both U18s) cleared 1.83m for equal third place in the high jump. Top two still in it, as expected. |

And everyone gets to do a lap of honour with the kind of flag kids put on sandcastles.

Philip wins the women's 60m with a 7.10 SB; DAS clocked 7.15 with an average start (same time as last year, I think). Between the two of them, a medal could be won.

Big Daf is seriously hardcore. 60m at 7.03 apparently!

Incidentally, here's your timetable for the world indoors, with UK times given. Might be an idea to take Monday 21st off.

Headaches galore for the selectors regarding the men's 60m.
Dasaolu won (6.53 SB) and has the standard, so he's in. Discretionary pick will be either Andrew Robertson (2nd with 6.54 PB), Sean Safo-Antwi (3rd in 6.57, PB is 6.55) or the world champion. Lake wins her first UK title on countback (1.90m, same as Pooley). 1.97m was needed for auto qualification. |

I thought Morgan would win that high jump. When it matters, Isobel just seems to be 6' 3" of mouth.

Think you're doing her a slight disservice there - she did win Commonwealth silver in 2014 and last year's UK outdoor title (the latter also with a NR).

She must be getting pee'd off at being beaten by multi-eventers at every turn.

Tom Farrell and Lee Emanuel actually made a race of that men's 3,000m final (though the latter took it easily in the end). Good to see that in a champs where a very slow race seems to happen more often than not.
----- Custodians of the NR (out), NJR (in & out) and NYB (in) all on the women's high jump podium. |

Just switched back onto the stream. Rimmer in the 1500? Was he down for that or just switched because of the DQ?

Very pleased for Michael Rimmer qualifying for the 1500.
Yes he switched because of the DQ. |

Watch out in the 2nd of the Women's 1500 heats for Sarah McDonald, not yet 23.
Fast-improving and a very smooth winner of the BUCS last week in 4:15 with negative splits. Putting my neck on the line and saying that she'll do very well outdoors this year (in the 4:06/4:07 area). |

Lordy, it's still going on? Stuck in the BBC mindset, everyone just goes home after 16:40 on a Saturday.

Hmmm. She seemed to qualify comfortably enough and looked to have a lot left. I am never quite sure which Hannah England is going to turn up when she races, but she looked good too. Should be a tasty final 2mmrw.

German sprinters had a cracking day in their champs:
M60m - Julian Reus lowered his NR to 6.52 (previously shared at 6.53) W60m - Tatjana Pinto ran a 7.07 PB (fastest German in 25 years) W60mH - Cindy Roleder ran a 7.88 PB |

So Luke Lennon-Ford gets disqualified in his heat, subsequently reinstated and then promptly gets disqualified again in his semi. Think someone needs to take him out and shoot him.

So the athletes who have guaranteed selection today are:
Asha Philip (60m) James Dasaolu (60m) Andrew Pozzi (60mH) Dan Bramble (Long Jump) Lee Emmanuel (3000m) |

Haha Luke Lennon Ford has supposedly been DQ'd 6 times at Sheffield. What a muppet.
Enjoyed watching today's action after the initial gremlins were solved. Great 60m races. Thrilled to see Dasaolu getting back to his best form after a below par 2015. If he nails his start a sub 6.50 in Portland is on the cards along with some bling. Hope Andy Robertson gets the 2nd spot, he deserves it after his breakthrough performance & PB today but it wouldn't surprise me if Kilty gets the nod. ![]() Great win for Asha too who looks in great shape. Her & Dasher should be part of a strong European challenge in Portland spearheaded by Daf of course judging by today's results across Europe. The US women have not set the world on fire over 60m so far this year. Pleased for Pozzi but Andy Turner mentioned that he's had more injury problems in recent weeks - you have to wonder is it a sensible decision for him to do World Indoors. |
