Serita Solomon also ran an SB of 8.02 in that meet, so appear to be coming back into her form she showed last year.
Max Eaves set a PB of 5.64m too Also Valerie Adams threw 19.43 whilst winning the Kiwi title. Looks like Queen Val is getting back to her best |

... how the hell have they not got any dirt on Gamze Bulut? The way she appeared from nowhere in 2012, there's no way she's clean.
... I'm taking the credit for this one. Clearly, the IAAF read this thread, saw my post, and decided to act.

UKA have announced their squad for Cardiff 2016.
Spoiler
As expected, Mo's selection was a forgone conclusion once he declared he was available. The team manager claims that it'll take a WR for someone to beat him - that's a rather bold call, especially as there will be no pacemakers. Other than Mo, the only other names of some note are Steel (former European XC champion, 7th in 2012 WHMCh) and Hawkins / Dixon (both looking to seal Olympic marathon qualification in London next month). Coulson wasn't available for selection, as Gavitar feared. It appears Hawkins also ran a PB of 1:02:36 in Paris the other day. |

^ Oh well, Jess C can save herself for the OG marathon trials just 4 weeks later. Hope she's fit and well for that.

Just heard on Twitter that Sean Safo-Antwi and Julia Bleasdale have switched allegiance to Ghana and Germany respectively, which appears to be confirmed by their IAAF profiles.

Sean Safo Antwi situation seems a bit odd. If he had won the trials would he have competed for GB in Portland. He must have applied a while ago. I understand why he'd want to switch - chances of him representing GB at Olympics/Worlds are slim but has there been an element of hedging his bets?

SSA transfer confirmed by UKA (request was made a couple of months ago*), as well as Jazmin Sawyers getting an IAAF invite to Portland.
[* Does that mean he gets to compete in Portland as well?] |

Looked it up!! Maryam Yusuf Jamal got the bronze in 2012. She swapped Ethiopia for Bahrain. Money and political troubles. Suffered grief over her kit. Deserves a gold from the sounds of it!!

Ah saw this after I posted. Bit of a shocker that. Like a men's global 100m final!!

I think the GB men's 100m is pretty open at the moment with Dwain on the decline and Dasaolu as fragile as ever. There's only Gemili you'd expect to get a place. The relay is even more open. Still, he obviously didn't like the odds.
He trains with CJ Ujah & Ojie Edoburun so he probably knows where he is in regards to them. Dasaolu looked great in Sheffield at the trials so I wouldn't be writing him off. Outside chance at best of Safo Antwi making individual spot for Rio for GB. He's 26 so not that young really |

Doesn't sound like the Russians are complying too much with the WADA:

I've always assumed athletes switch more for selection chances rather than discovering some long lost heritage. Sean's got a host of rivals in the 100, and Julia's getting on a bit, so they would fit the bill. Quote:

Perhaps he's not that keen on the relay squad either. I'd move to Ghana to avoid having to share a room with Kilty.

It's almost as if they don't actually understand what the problem is! Either that or they're just betting on the IAAF and WADA to cave in, believing that they are too big to ban from Rio. |

Haven't seen a twitter rant from Kilty on this. I guess he is happy with this change in allegiance. Now all he needs is for Gemili to switch to Iran/Moroccos and CJ & Dasaolu to switch to Nigeria, hey presto he may even have a chance of being British number 1.
