Ref Bleasdale - she has both a German and a GBNI profile on the IAAF website:-
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/germany...easdale-206197 http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/great-b...easdale-206197 Unusual at the very least! |

Timetable for 2017 looks good. Like the idea of it starting on a Friday night & less morning sessions is the way to go. Must be better for TV too with only 1 morning session during the week. Men's 100m final on Saturday night.
Got my e-mail yesterday to register for priority ticket window. Just hope that the tickets aren't too pricey. My guess is they'll be more than Glasgow 2014 but not as expensive as London 2012 |

On what basis I wonder?
*On the other hand, there's good reason to think that paying for a one-way plane ticket would have been a good investment. |

Guess he does need to be 100% for Rio...
Carl Lewis doesn't seem to be a fan of Greg's or the sport itself. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/oth...-pathetic.html Suppose the guy did have very high standards...and was helped along the way.

How does he know how hard today's jumpers do/ don't train? Does he go & watch them train on a regular basis? Of course not. |

Thanks @grassmarket for info on the NCAA coverage and your Mike Rimmer comments always give me a chuckle or two.
![]() Also happening today & tomorrow ... US Indoor Champs live from Portland on USATF.tv today at 7.30pm - http://live.usatf.tv/liveusaindoor2016.html Broadcast schedule for today & tomorrow here - http://www.usatf.tv/gprofile.php?do=...1678&year=2016 . There are also two 2-hour windows on NBC Sports Network. You may have a way of accessing that ... The broadcast times are Eastern US Time so add 5 hours for the UK. Also, the 3rd installment of the ARD doping documentaries is available in English (just 28 minutes this time) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XGVKE3yrXs As has been mentioned on the previous page, little seems to have changed in Russia! There's also a bit about a doping coach in Malaysia who got on the IAAF Council.

Not often I find myself in agreement with most commentators on Daily Mail site. Never liked Carl Lewis & this does nothing to change my mind.

Does he go & watch them train on a regular basis? Of course not. Plus we all know of his repulsive and repeated hypocrisy with regard to Ben Johnson and many others - this joker even admitted in 2003 that he had plenty of 'help' himself (a lot of the US team did but it was covered up - Flo Drug for example) and his continual whining about Bolt makes him look like the posturing, arrogant fool that he really is. Bugger off Lewis. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/athletics...ing-athletics/ |

Woah! Wayde van Niekerk becomes the first man in history to run sub-10 for the 100m, sub-20 for the 200m and sub-44 for the 400m.

His 9.98A (+1.5m/s) PB was run in Bloemfontein, which is located at altitude so it was more like a 10.1 at sea-level. Still, that's quite some addition to his credentials, to put it mildly.
Down Under, the Perth Track Classic is known for warm conditions - the performance of the meet belonged to long jumper Brooke Stratton (AUS), who now leads the world rankings with a remarkable 7.05m (+2.0m/s) AR! That'll last longer than the vast majority of outdoor world leads set in that part of the world. The NCAA pentathlon was something else - Kendell Williams* (who is competing in Portland) took victory with a 4703 PB. However, it was Akela Jones* (BAR) that demonstrated the greatest flashes of brillance as her ultimately aborted series included a 1.98m high jump =WL (!) and 6.80m long jump - had she performed to her ability, she'd have broken the WR. No, really. ![]() [* Morgan Lake wasn't the only female athlete with great combined events potential to win a world junior title in Oregon] |

Turns out Nathan Douglas only found out today that the IAAF invited him to the World Champs last week but the UKA federation rejected the invite without consulting him.

Some notable performances from the US Indoor Champs. Barbara Pierre won the 60m in 7.00, Dafne will have a fight on her hands to win Gold next week if she repeats that form. Bracy & Bromell took the 2 men's spots up for grabs. Big win for Brianna Rollins in the 60h, coming back to the form that won her the World title in Moscow. And Brittany Reese also looks like she is coming into form. another. Perhaps the most eye-catching result was Vashti Cunningham winning the High Jump in 1.99 - she is an 18 year old High School Student and her Dad Randall is a former NFL star.
After only just scraping into the final Cindy Ofili won the 60h at the NCAA champs in a new PB of 7.89 |

Day 2 of the USATF Indoors 2nd and 4th place times in the W60mH final were equal world bests. ![]() Quote:

She's right up there with the likes of Ruth Beitia...who's old enough (just) to be her mother.

Wow at Barbara Pierre... That start was incredible, probably up there with the likes of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's. I was expecting the women's 60m to be disappointing since the 60m heavyweights Fraser-Pryce and Ahouré, Gold and Silver medallist respectively from the last World Indoor Championships, are skipping indoors to concentrate on the outdoor season, but it looks as though Schippers and Pierre are poised to show us an impressive race.
The men's 60m should be explosive too. Ronnie Baker and Cameron Burrell ran 6.47 and 6.48 respectively at the NCAA Championships a few days ago, Asafa Powell ran 6.49 last month and Dasuolu looked ominous running 6.53 with a dreadful start at the British Indoor Championships. And let's not forget Mike Rodgers and Kim Collins, who are both very capable of going sub 6.50. And that's just the sprints... |
