It's truly a bad joke. Political correctness is going to do as much damage to the credibility of this event as Russian dopers did.
It's a tricky one. No-one criticises the natural advantages that elite male athletes might have. It's a lot easier to become an NBA player if you're over 6'6" even though you don't need to be...but... that Doha run was way too easy for her. It was like a training run and she knew she had their number. I bet she holds back in the Olympics and just does enough to get a medal.

After battling injuries in recent years, Andreas Thorkildsen has hung up his spikes.

Desiree Henry is down to compete at the Adidas Boost Meet this weekend. I'm convinced she'll be our next sub-11 second sprinter.

Other names include Yohan Blake, Warren Weir and Tori Bowie.

Competing athletes:

http://ladv.de/meldung/teilnehmer/11817
http://ladv.de/meldung/teilnehmer/10963
Fri 5pm* and Sat midday* - live streaming at http://www.leichtathletik.de/termine...enaurach-live/

* The start time of the live streams may change after creating the final schedule.

Not sure if it will be geo-blocked or not.

More info about the meet - http://www.runblogrun.com/2016/05/mi...hletics-m.html

Apparently, Defar is aiming to beat her 10k PB of 29:59! Defar was the last woman to go sub-30, in 2009.

Also on at the weekend is the Cayman Invitational,, featuring the season debuts of Bolt & Felix. Zharnel Hughes & Delano Williams are also running there. Not sure about streaming for that one.

Always one of my favourite athletes. Sadly not surprised, though I had hoped for a final hurrah in Rio

Who are the future track stars?

Its been well over a decade since I followed T&F. I used to run sprints and long jump for Uni - even per took in Word Uni Games but my loves went to all time zero. Women, drink and other things. I really want to get back into it.. Preferably sooner rather than later. I guess I am just waiting for Bolt to retire or have someone dethrone him.

Bolt 100
Hughes 200
Williams 400
Felix wasn't sure a while back but this site now has her down for the 100 and 400.

Is it a rhetorical question or are you actually asking?

If you're asking so you can get back up to speed ... current and recently-risen stars might be easier to answer? What events are you interested in particularly?

Or, are you just wondering who the 2 or 3 biggest stars/potential stars are who might be able to help carry the sport in the way Bolt has done?

Well two possible big names for me.

Andre DeGrasse, Canada - 100m & 200m. Has the talent to be the next dominant double sprint champ. Won't beat Bolt's times but will be more like a Gatlin or Gay. Will also face tough competition from upcoming Americans and Jamaicans.

Wayde van Niekerk, Sourh Africa - 4000m. Has the talent to break MJ's world record. But will have tough competition from young Olympic champ. Kirani James and a new wave of sub & low 44 runners.

Thanks. I noticed Zharnel ran a low key 20.62 at the weekend. He'll be hoping for something a little quicker this weekend.

I wonder what event Delano Williams is planning to target at trials. He's previously said 200 - whatever route he goes down it won't be easy to get an individual spot for Rio. Personally I'd really like to see him have a proper crack at 400 as he sseems to have plateaued at 200 in the last couple of years

Without Kenya (and Russia?) must give the clean athletes greater chance of medals

Why is the BBC using a picture of Kilty to promote the Diamond League on their website? It's been annoying me for days.

At this rate there will be nobody left to attend the Rio Olympics.

Kenya has been declared in breach of global anti-doping rules.

The surprise move will mean some of the world's top athletes are at risk of missing August's Olympic Games in Rio.

Well if it sends out a strong message that cheats won't prosper then maybe its a good thing?

Shame is anyone who does win will have the "cheating" allegation made against them - particularly if not expected to.

Thanks for the links Gavitar.

Well she has been training with Schippers most of the winter so hopefully some of that will rub off. Plus of course she gets her special one on one attention from Rana.
Oh wow, I didn't realise they were still....involved

In terms of both talent and charisma, I have one eye firmly on Omar McLeod. Being a hurdler as opposed to a sprinter (although he is now officially a sub-10 100m man) probably means he'll never quite have Bolt's appeal, but his future is very bright and I think it's only a matter of time before he's challenging the WR.

Here's the seating plan for the 2017 WCh (IAAF).

The seating configurations are yet to be confirmed, so you can only select a price category. As expected, a fair chunk is reserved for the media and VIP.

Michael Rimmer goes in the 800m.....wisely ignores the pacemaker, hangs around at the back, picks up a very credible 9th place, just four spots away from an historic Diamond League point. To be fair, David Rudisha also flopped, so it was shocks all round.
