Oh dear, looks like this will affect Rio

The U.S. Justice department are going after the russian Athletes

The Dept of Justice has opened an investigation into state-sponsored doping by dozens of Russia’s top athletes, two people familiar with the case said. The inquiry escalates what has been a roiling sports controversy into a federal criminal case involving foreign officials.

Jess Ennis will be starting her season in the javelin competition - just that one - in Loughbrough this Sunday.

Just found a map for the 2017 WCh (IPC) as well.

The second priority window opens in 20 minutes (10am) and the site is already busy. Considering the recent scandals, that must be rather comforting to the organisers...

Great win for Aries Merritt yesterday in Beijing running 13.24. Would love him to win another medal in Rio.

I managed to get tickets for all the sessions I wanted just now. Most have "medium availability" for all sessions except Sunday (mens 100m final) which is currently "low"

No delays either on the site.

I completely forgot I had access to the priority window opening at 10am today. Just logged on and was still able to go straight to the two sessions I wanted (sprint finals nights) and get tickets. I was very surprised. I'm not sure it'll be a sell-out for all sessions.

I'm sorry, are we talking about the World Athletics Championships that are still nearly 15 months away? I'm not sure how you can come to that conclusion so far out from the event.

Very busy weekend coming up.

Starts tomorrow with the Ostrava meet which is live on Eurosport from 4 PM. Bolt running against a lacklustre field (the only other big name in there is Ashton Eaton). A few Brits competing including Martyn Rooney.

At 6PM tomorrow on BBC2 there is the Great City Games from Manchester. Have to say a slightly lacklustre field compared to recent years. Greg is competing in the LJ and the 100 line up includes Trayvon Bromell, Kim Collins, CJ Ujah & some gobsh*** from Teeside.

Saturday is the Halle throws meeting. It may be streamed somewhere as German meets often are. Many of top British throwers are competing including Sophie Hitchon, Mark Dry & Jade Lally. Sophie McKinna & Rachael Wallader will be trying to get the Olympic qualifying in the Shot - it seems there was a problem with the permit at the meeting 2 weeks ago so their marks may not be ratified for qualification purposes.

On Saturday Evening there is the Highgate Harriers 10K meeting/Olympic Trials which are being streamed on Vinco. To qualify for the Olympics you need to have a qualification time & finish in the Top 2 here. The men's race at 8:15 features Andy Vernon who is currently the only Brit with the standard other than some chap Farah. Also running here is Chris Thompson but it'll be tough for him just 4 weeks after the London Marathon. The Women's race looks fantastic. Jo Pavey will be attempting to qualify for her 5th Olympics. Kate Avery & Beth Potter have the qualifying standard and there will be 1 or 2 others who will be hoping to get the standard like Jess Coulson & Lily Partridge. Also taking part are former World Champion Linet Masai from Kenya & a smattering of Europeans such as Sophie Duarte from France & Sabrina Mockenhaupt from Germany which should hopefully make for a great race. The qualifying standards are 32:15 for the women & 28:00 for the men. If anyone misses the standard the European standards are 28:25 & 32:35 which could provide a consolation prize and/or a final opportunity to qualify.

On to Sunday in the morning at 11 on BBC2 we have the Great Manchester Run featuring Kenenisa Bekele & Tirunesh Dibaba.

Also on Sunday is the Loughborough international featuring the season debuts of James Dasaolu & Jessica Ennis Hill. Vinco will be streaming this.

And if that weren't enough the Diamond League from Rabat is on at 5PM on Eurosport. Highlight looks to be Shelly-Ann v Elaine Thompson in the 100. Brits taking part include Lynsey Sharp, Shelayna Oskan Clark, Rabah Yousuf, Robbie Grabarz & Dan Bramble

I'm trying to buy tickets for 2017 but can't see how to find out where the seats are (other than very broad sections). Can anyone point me to a link?

Here's a link to the ticketing site.

The full seating layout is not finalised yet, so you cannot select specific individual seats.

Will Sharman IS BACK!!!! Lined up in a decent field in Ostrava, a rusty 13:74 in 7th place. But we all missed him last year, I think. Looking forward to the first interview, now that the BBC has already adapted War and Peace they are going to need another summer filler.

9.98 for Usain Bolt in Ostrava. He looks not terribly impressed, but he did run through the line.

James Ellington won the 200m, didn't catch the time,. Kind of an Olympic first heat level field though.

Jeremy Warriner was in the 400m, he looks like Michael Stipe out of REM now. And ran like him, 46.21. Race won by Javon Francis in 44.87, who either has the world's greatest tattoos, or was wearing armbands.

Oh dear, local gold medal heroine Zuzana Hejnova looked not very good at all, run down into 3rd on the home straight.

Konrad Bukowiecki has become the first junior to break 21m with the men's shot put! The world junior champion will be the face of this year's U20 WCh, which is on home (Polish) soil.

Over in Manchester, GR produced an 8.20m GR () to win the men's long jump. Don't know the wind reading yet.

Kim Collins, at FORTY years of age, is still winning races (and beating British sprinters) in Manchester. Remember the 2002 Commonwealth Games?!

All of today's races along Deansgate were wind-aided.

Wow.. Jeremy Warriner.... Where has he been for the last few years?

Despite lumbering down the home straight in 3rd, I still think Hejnova is the one to beat in Rio. Seeing ol' Jeremy Wariner was a bit of a blast from the past, I thought he'd retired or something.

Ostrava was entertaining enough, but the best bit was finally getting to see Will Sharman for the first time since his big 2014 choke.

The Manchester meeting was alright, but this street games malarkey never really does a lot for me. That 40 year old geezer wasn't too bad though.

He jumped into a 0.6m/s headwind - great jump when you consider the venue doesn't lend itself to big jumps. Incidentally, he wants to host a meet in his back garden after Rio...no, really. (He also speaks about the Russia situation)

Thanks. I have seen the site but the sections are so broad it's impossible to tell where the seat would be (either than price A). They should have made more sections even if they can't do individual seats (though given that it's an athletics stadium it's hard to see how they can't do indiviual seats).

Just caught up on Ostrava after watching The City Games live.

Weather conditions put paid to decent timesin Manchester. Great to see Kim Collins winning. Now if CJ had pipped Bromell rather than other way round would have been my ideal result. And next time the BBC interview Bromell can they subtitle it as I barely understood a word he said.

Greg looks in great shape. 8.20 in those conditions is good going. He is still the one to beat in Rio.

I suspect a few of those competing in Manchester would have preferred to be in Ostrava where there was much better conditions. Bolt looked in fairly decent shape, certainly much better than this time last year. Hope Hejnova's injury improves but the 400h looks to be wide open this year & Eilidh Child is right in the mix. Disappointing from Sharman & Omoregie progress seems to be stalling but Clarke had a decent run for 3rd. Poor James Ellington just when he finds some half decent form, another young buck runs 4 10ths faster than him in America. Still he can have a good scrap with Danny Talbot for 4th place at trials & there's always Amsterdam as a consolation prize.

Greg wants a meet in his back garden http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...herts-36341940

If there's only 50-100 tickets how much is he thinking people will pay?

I've taken a chance and booked for two sessions for 2017. I'll wait until I can choose seats before getting any more.
