Also hearing on Twitter that Mariya Abakumova is another athlete if true could mean a medal for Goldie Sayers?

Always enjoy Gotzis. Sadly I probably won't be able to watch much of the stream due to other commitments.
Warner should win the Decathlon comfortably. And will likely be a German battle for the other places, Gotzis is one of their official trial competitions. Heptathlon should be a good battle between KJT & Brianne. I think KJT will come out on top with an overall PB of around 6800. Not that confident about Morgan Lake getting the qualifying for Rio. I think she'll score over 6000 which is a European qualifying standard. She could try again there for the Olympic qualifier if necessary or maybe even Ratingen in Germany in 4 weeks time - rumour is Jess might be doing that. |

Worth noting Austrian U18 Sarah Lagger (silver in WYCh hep) is competing, so comparisons with Morgan w.r.t both this weekend and 2014 will be made. It'll also be interesting to see how close Warner gets to Daley Thompson's Commonwealth record of 8847.*
Speaking of the Hypo-Meeting (in light of recent scandals, probably not the best name to have for a prestigious CE meet XD), here's some info: Full-length preview Decathlon start list of 32 Heptathlon start list of 33 [* Factoid of the day - was 8798 =WR/OR according to the scoring tables that applied when Daley retained his Olympic title in 1984. At the time, he was mistakenly denied a point from his 110mH performance, so his score was calculated as 8797 OR and he missed out on "World Record!" kudos at the time.] |

Amidst all the other excitement, we are forgetting about the Eugene Diamond League meet this weekend.
First up, the non-Diamond League Distance Night, featuring the annual "Mo Farah takes on the best in World, and everyone wears the same bloody kit" 10000. https://www.diamondleague.com/news/s...e-classic-10k/ There is a live feed, but it seems to be subscriber only - it was free last year. http://live.usatf.tv/livepre2016.html And lots of other good stuff in the Meet itself - highlight will probably be Dafne Schippers and a strong 200m field. http://www.diamondleague.com/news/si...ic-womens-200/ |

Names are starting to leak regarding the Beijing Olympics retests. And the first name is Anna Chicherova who won High Jump bronze in Beijing & of course gold in London. And she was one of the few Russians who a lot of people thought was clean.

And if you are still looking for something to watch this weekend, the NCAA website has the Division II and Division III finals - Division I comes up in a couple of weeks.

Well Morgan certainly didn't pull up any trees over the 100mh at Lufbra last weekend. I was really hoping that with a winter as a full time athlete (without the distraction of school) she'd have worked hard on her basic speed and really kicked on this year. Anyway if things don't work out regards the Olympic qualifying standard she'll still have the option of defending her World Junior titles.
John Lane and Ashley Bryant are also competing in the Decathlon this weekend aiming for Olympic qualifying. Ashley has the best chance as he's been over the 8100 standard before back in 2014. |

Here's a summary of yesterday's activities at the Prefontaine Classic. More to come this evening.
Best British athlete on the night was Mo, as you'd expect - he won the men's 10,000m in a 26:53.71 WL. There was also a WL for world champion Joe Kovacs in the men's shot put (22.13m). |

Have a great feed for Gotzis on Kodi, watched the first two heats of the 100mh, but now they've switched to two blokes hitting a ball over a net.

I'll never understand multi-eventers no-marking in the Long Jump.
If you foul your first attempt, then damn well make sure you get a safe one in next time to at least get some points on the board. Then you can really go for it again in the 3rd round.

1.86m for Morgan, 8cm down on her best.
Rio qualification is looking less likely now, lets hope she can PB in some other events or at least get the European standard. |

Nafi and KJT only ones left at 1.92, both with one failure. BTE only 1.83.

Oh dear. 11.55 is KJT's final mark for the shot put. Lowest of all the competitors from both groups.
Morgan Lake threw 13.18m. KJT is in 6th, Lake in 17th after 3 events. |

Had a quick scan through the current heptathlon results. That 22.79 from KJT was jolly impressive, though her flat speed isn't in doubt. But that shot putt was woeful, even by her standards. I wonder if she was still kicking the shot in to the circle!
![]() I hope she doesn't fall in to the trap of feeling like she has to clear the long jump pit tomorrow in order to make up for this. For once I'll keep an eye on the declathlon as I'm following Toni Minichello's entertaining blog, and he's there with John Lane. |

Blimey, Warner's clocked a 10.15 (+1.1m/s) WDB in the 100m!! That's worth 1059 points, for the record - I wonder what Ashton Eaton will make of that. Quote:

Provided she doesn't do a Beijing, I can see her long jumping 6.90m or thereabouts. |
