Olga Rypakova (KAZ) leads women's triple jump at the death with 14.61m (+1.5m/s) =SB! What response from Ibargüen?
It's 14.53m (+0.7m/s), so her streak of 34 is ended by the same person that denied her Olympic gold in 2012! |

Schippers takes Heat 1 in the women's 100m, a surprise to nobody. Unimpressive time due to a massive headwind, but she looked strong.
Very impressive running from Nelson! Philip didn't look so good. |

Second heat - Gardner in 11.02 (+0.8m/s), Bartoletta 2nd Q in 11.07, Henry 3rd Q in 11.07.
DAS 4th in 11.08 SB, so she'll be in the final too. ----- Actually can't remember the last time Henry beat DAS in a H2H. |

Not a good start for Gardner, at least by her standards, but she looked easy.
Agreed grassmarket, good running from both Henry and DAS. I made a prediction not long ago that Henry will emerge as one of our strongest 100m sprinters, maybe even eclipsing DAS. I stand by that, although I'm a big fan of them both. |

Good on Desiree. She seems to have improved her starts and she's got some strength. I wonder if she can pop 11 seconds this season? Quote:
Perhaps. Sanya Richards-Ross pulled up injured and was carried off the track last night in the USA too. Felix we're still yet to see.

Tia Brooks (USA) edges the great Valerie Adams with a 19.73m shot put PB.

If it wasn't so damn windy, today would have been a great opportunity to go sub-8 in the men's 3,000mSC.
Blimey, not a minute passes and C Kipruto / Birech have already gapped the field. |

First 1,000m done in 2:35.27. That's a ridiculous pace - next couple will be slower, without doubt.

Second km in around 2:43. Sub-8 could still happen!
Actually, 65 secs needed for last lap, which is over 400m... |

Just checked out Ashleigh Nelson again in the women's 100m Heat 1. She was closing like a beast. I think the final is between Schippers and Gardner, but Nelson looks really good for 3rd. She'll be fighting it out with DAS, Henry and Bartoletta.

Just realised that second heat was the first time two Brits broke 11.1 in the same race.
Never seen the high jump bar dislodged by a breeze before - good to see Grabarz got credit for that 2.26m clearance. |

What can Kiprop do in the men's 1,500m? We could see our second WL of the day.
